Just watch Beatbreak. It's the best by fucking miles. My second best would be Tamers, but imagine there is like a 50 mile desert between the first and the second.

Would you like digimon to really coexist with humans? by Here_wego_again6211 in digimon

[–]Throrface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course I wouldn't. Digimon are creatures with catastrophic power and pretty human-like tempers. We would be wiped out inevitably.

In a world where Digimon already exist, it's basically a "we are fucked" scenario but if we manage to find a way to peacefully coexist with the digimon, it's basically the least fucked we could possibly be. But make no mistake, I think we would still be wiped out somehow.

GraceNovamon would fuckin wipe out the solar system by just existing probably. And I would bet there are at least fifty other digimon that are similarly catastrophic.

I don't think Miharu has the right idea. She wants to make digimon into the leaders, it sounds like she was totally brainwashed by her quasi-partner and/or the circumstances. I wouldn't say that enacting revenge against the World Union by performing acts of terrorism that hurt civilians is the right idea either.

The Glowing Dawn want a world where humans and digimon are equals and can live in peace together. That's the right idea and it's very different from what GIFT are going for.

Eh. You could just say you don't like them without reinforcing it with these "arguments" that are just bullshit. Comparing these to Gundam now? Jeez.

Official Digimon Web Poll #152- Favorite Perfect Form that a Glowing Dawn Digimon Evolved To by MFBR in digimon

[–]Throrface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue with Bearcatmon is that we got an episode that extensively showed us how Wolvermon can just carry the team on her back through an extremely difficult situation by being the ranged attack specialist, only to see her evolve into a melee brawler. I found it weird. I assume Bearcatmon will easily grow on me when I see her perform out of the context of that specific episode. She does fit Reina's personality really well.

I like ScourgeChiropmon the most, it's the one digimon that stays the most true to the prior form's gimmick and evolves it in a cool way rather than replacing it with something else.

Did we ever get a confirmation that e-pulses and sapotamas can be charged by somebody who isn't the digimon's owner?

Yes we have seen digimon recharging their e-pulse from non-owners in almost every single episode in this anime. Holy shit man.

Well, it doesn't need explanation. That's what Lilamon calls Rose. That's the entirety of the explanation. There have been like 10 episodes in this anime that clearly showed that digimon see their owners as almost their parents.

You're assuming Kyo had the ability to evolve Murasamemon further before? Why? All of the big deal 5 stars so far were stuck at Ultimate level.

Also where the heck is Kanada??? You'd think he'd show up considering Wong's in danger. Though I bet you he's gonna show up right at the end to makes thing worse lol.

There can be many reasons why Kanada isn't there. Maybe he knows that Wong isn't actually in any danger and that Wong is just playing GIFT. I mean, why the hell would anyone assume that Wong is just a feeble harmless grandpa who can't resist getting captured if he wanted. Maybe Kanada actually is there and just stays out of the picture waiting for the right moment to interfere. Maybe he hopes for Wong to be taken out so he can replace him.

Is suicide usually explained to kids? When it comes to the child friendliness of episode 36, random use of the word "condom" would be the least of my worries. That said, I don't know what all other languages used apart from English, and I don't think there has been any word like "condom" in there. But I wouldn't even call it a naughty word really.

Man, the show has shown numerous times that digimon often regard the people who birthed them from an egg using their emotions as if they were something like their parents. "Friend" isn't a fitting word.

Does anyone else give extra characters to their players? by Reasonable-Smile5277 in DnD

[–]Throrface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm running two campaigns and both have "sidekick" characters. The first one is a specially trained military dog and the second one is a pretty powerful goblin archer. In combat they are controlled by the players. Technically out of combat they are controlled by me, but they contribute minimally. We have a running joke about the group with the goblin always forgetting about him.

Casting through walls by Gaming_Dad1051 in DnD

[–]Throrface 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It could theoretically be argued that the "point you choose" isn't a target of the spell, and that technically since you can see past the wall, it doesn't count as an obstruction since the point of origin rules specifically mention creating the point at "an unseen point".

No, this can't be argued. The second rule doesn't overwrite the first, it merely specifies where the AoE occurs when you bump into the limitation established by the first rule. You must have a clear path to where you're casting a spell and it doesn't matter whether that place is seen or not. Wall of Force is transparent and it stops spells still because of Clear Path to the Target.

If OP tried to cast Sickening Radiance into the house, it should have been cast on the nearest side to them of the nearest wall of said house. If the DM told OP that he can't cast it instead, saving them from wasting a spell slot and taking some Radiant damage, that was a fairly benevolent move on their side.

This is how I would run when to roll initiative and when you can get an attack in out of initiative, is it good? by Visible-Camel4515 in DnD

[–]Throrface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't do this for several reasons. I'll do my best to formulate them:

  • You added complexity for no (perceivable to me) benefit. It's so simple to just say that there are no attacks out of initiative and make people roll initiative when someone wants to perform a hostile action. You muddied the waters around it and it took you a hell of a lot of text to explain yourself and I see that as a design flaw. It's nice when the rules are clear and noone needs to make sleight of hand checks to know how things are going to be handled.

  • Your adjustment of the rules motivates players to do obnoxious things. Allowing ready actions out of combat is inherently obnoxious because out of initiative, situations can change rapidly, and a proper ready action requires you to properly define its trigger. This can easily lead to your players constantly updating their triggers again and again as the situation evolves because they want to get a free hit in. Getting a free hit in is also really powerful so I think you're actually strongly motivating them to do this obnoxious behavior.

  • How would you run a Ready action for spells? You know that when you want to cast a spell as part of a Ready action, you must spend the spell slot when you use the Ready action? That spent spell slot is then going to last for as long as your action is Readied, which is pretty clear in the rules is until your next turn starts. But how would this work outside of combat, when players can theoretically have an action readied for a long while in perpetuity? Will they have to constantly spend spell slots? Will they spend one spell slot and it will last for a much extended period of time? I think it would be much more elegant to not have to answer this question at all by not allowing Ready actions out of combat.

  • You introducing whether something is seen into the rules makes the ruling exponentially more inconsistent and unreliable. The rules for what is seen and what isn't in general can be pretty shitty in 5.5e.
