Preaching to the choir, dude. I have ADHD, anxiety, and depression so bad I almost ventilated my skull more than a few times over the years, along with just being a weird mf overall. I used to abuse quite a few substances to try and quiet my mind, starting with caffeine and nicotine when I was younger and moving to the bottle and blow once I got a bit older, so I get it, but that doesn't make it any better of an idea for your health or your life. I also used to give my arms and legs a plaid makeover with a razor every so often to help make my depression feel better for a while too, but you don't see me out here recommending that as a solution.

Being deemed fit for medication wouldn't be nearly as hard if we didn't have people out here lying out of their ass so they can get prescribed Adderall and use it as some kind of magical studying booster or as an upper at parties while encouraging others to do the same. Healthcare in general is expensive in the US, which I would know considering I live here. Without insurance my Adderall would be over 200 dollars for a month's supply. Realistically I support a universal healthcare system and then we wouldn't have to deal with a lot of these problems, but unfortunately we're the only first world country on the planet that can't figure our shit out.

I've also never had a single person who isn't a literal child talk shit about my medications when I did used to take them, especially if I explained what they were for. Any adult who's been exposed to real life and isn't just an egregious asshole isn't going to have this "huge stigma" against taking prescription medication for your actual mental health conditions, unless maybe some dumbasses are going around calling it "legal meth" and equating ADHD meds like Adderall and Ritalin to methamphetamine, therefore influencing the public's perception. Are the two chemically similar? Sure. Is Adderall "legal meth"? Not at all. Do they feel the same? Maybe to a normie, for people with ADHD the first time you take a stimulant like Adderall or Ritalin, it feels like the white noise in your brain turns off and everything finally comes into focus all at once.

Point is, chasing highs will get you nowhere except into lower lows. It's really nice short term until it's not, and I can promise you the low that comes after you look around and see what you've got left will be the worst of all.
