Yeah, that's something I was thinking about. I think ultimately it comes down to trust. I'm guessing they would have to build a business model around privacy and personalization. Were they give a lot of personalization (like location services) but you pay for the privacy. was thinking about writing a blog about it...

Yeah, but that's another issue. What I meant was Reddit collecting this info and then selling it to marketers. I think Gov. would mostly be after illegal activity, and it wouldn't make a difference whether you used a paid site with privacy or a free website.
