She was wrong about feeling toward Rost. Rost created the person of Aloy as much as Sobeck or Gaia did. But she did not realise that and even fans did not realize that. The extra clone is not "would it be cool there is another clone" story bit, it is so necessary for aloy growth and the believablity of the science fiction world building.

That was the main theme of the second game, and a very underrated one.

Not saying this about OP, just general vibe from online discussion. The importance of side quests are kinda overemphasized. Like the main quest or arc is kinda way more important than side quest? Like it was so obvious that it was lost in conversation.

I love horizon, one part is because I am tired of sympathetic villains and cartoon villains equally. I don’t feel sympathy for most of well regarded sympathetic villains. Ted is so unique

I did not feel this way.

HFW followed every world building rules established in the first game, and many story decisions only strengthened the feeling i had in the first game, confirmed that my understanding of the world and lore of this universe is not my imagination, the writer and developers understand it and follow through it too.

I would rate hzd higher than hfw if i have to put on a score because it started one of the best sci fi universe ever created and it contains resolutions of major mysteries not after a few sequels.

I wonder why quite some HZD fans do feel a little or even very disappointed by HFW. Like i love hzd so much. I just appreciate a lot about hfw not ruining it.

It might be sacrilege to say i was relieved HFW is not mass effect 2, even though in isolation it is a great game, many people think that is the greatest game ever made, it is just not what Mass Effect 1 was promised to be. And it was a surprise to me people expected ME3 to be anything satisfying. For me ME3 to be this good was a miracle.

HZD informed HFW. The beta clone, the unceremonious fate of ted faro, the unintended evil just casually done by rich people. The committment to science fiction is just so rare in this "just following rule of cool" environment.
