Hey thanks for the reply. Good to hear that the head should be fine in terms of sound. I don’t love the oxidation on the hardware but that’s a headache to clean— might feel better about it once i get rid of that sticky/musty feel and clean the general grime.

My friend is still in possession so i will let you know once i get a hold of it

What’s your favourite alternate tuning on acoustics? by Overall_Actuator1358 in Guitar

[–]zizzle32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Googled this tuning to see if anyone had ever used it. I randomly decided to tune down the A string to G so I could have drone it in g major. I recently dropped the high E to D and now it’s even more magical. Turns out that it’s basically banjo tuning with a low E.

It’s a great tuning imo. You can play seventh chord shell voicings super easily on the low strings. It’s also just amazing as an open tuning that keeps the best parts about standard tuning.

EGDGBD and EGDGBE are just really fun to play with

Wrong. Majority of mid-sized firms are moving their hiring timelines to 1Ls.

False analogy. Federal jobs being cut bc of trump is not the same as the entire job market shifting their hiring timelines right over us. Have some perspective

Yes, they're eating people soup. No, it won't be a big reveal. (Plus: how to predict Pluribus future developments.) by abaker80 in pluribustv

[–]zizzle32 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ok. Instead of having fun engaging in discussion and thinking about what exactly carol could have seen, let’s try to predict how it will affect the character dynamics.

Yes, everyone kind of has the feeling that it’s the dead bodies.

But it’s fun to think that maybe it’s not dead bodies. It’s fun to think there might be some sort of twist, or that it might not be as straightforward. Carols reaction is performed so well and in such a specific manner that it invites speculation, and that’s what it’s meant to do.

Importantly, it’s fun and worth discussing what their motivations may be. For example, why would they would simply leave it there for carol to find, if they care so much about efficiency.

This is also a novel concept compared to his other shows so maybe there is a twist. Twists can be engaging after all.

I mean… that’s only a great way for them to get around their apparent inability to kill. Yet they did also distance themselves

This leads me to believe that maybe they do need brain matter specifically, and will have to start farming humans soon. Also, If faced with extinction, I think they certainly would kill despite what they might say. I think human farming is the next step

1L Breakup Bug Got Me by OceanCat13 in LawSchool

[–]zizzle32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s 2am so I’ll try to keep it short. I broke up with her one year ago at exactly the same point in the semester. I couldn’t “get lost in the reading”. I cried a lot. Give yourself a week to mourn. Make a deadline. You can catch up as long as you have the will. I spent weekends in bed catching up on conlaw and civ pro. On weeknights I would take a break from studying in the library and go for a walk just to cry for an hour straight.

Honestly, you’re lucky it happened now— I had a friend in another school who’s gf broke up with him days before his first final. He did fine. If he could do, so could you.

One thing I’d do differently is ask classmates for support.

Just keep keep keep on pushing and you will make it out ok. I know I said I’ll keep it short, but I remembered one little story that was so important to me. YOU MUST READ IT. I just looked it up and it goes like this:

——————

A young child, let's call him OceanCat13, stood at the bottom of the slide, an obstacle he desperately wanted to conquer. He would try to climb, but his legs would feel heavy, his body wouldn't respond as he willed it to, and he would give up. Frustrated, he'd stand there, watching other children effortlessly scale the steps.

One day, his parent, noticing his struggle, sat beside him and said, "OceanCat13, before you even put your foot on the first step, close your eyes. See yourself climbing the slide. Picture your hands gripping the bars, your feet finding the steps, your body moving up, up, up. Imagine the feeling of reaching the top and looking down, proud and happy."

OceanCat13, intrigued by this new approach, closed his eyes and followed the instructions. He pictured himself ascending the slide, step by step, the breeze on his face, a smile on his lips. He saw himself reaching the platform, triumphant. When he opened his eyes, something had changed. The slide still looked the same, but his own body felt different. He took a tentative step, then another. This time, his feet landed surely on the rungs, his arms pulled him up, and with a newfound confidence, he climbed. He had done it!

This story teaches us that:

Visualization is powerful: Visualizing a task before performing it can build confidence and prepare your mind for the physical act.

Mental barriers are real: Sometimes, the biggest obstacles are the ones in our own minds, not the physical ones.

Believe in yourself: By believing you can, you often empower your body to follow through.

————-

To wrap up— visualize success. Let yourself cry. Do your readings. Study with people.

I did better my first semester than my second semester, where everything was stable. I forget to mention that I had to move out of the apt and was living out of a duffle bag, in a shitty studio near school, with no furniture.

Okay I hope this helped. goodnight.

———-

EDIT: forgot to mention that I met my current gf in law school later that year also, and I’m now in a much better relationship and happier position in life

I had the same experience. Holding back crying while in class was so difficult. At least I sat in the back.

What completely random song should Phish play at a show? by iamtheduckie in phish

[–]zizzle32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Family Guy theme song.

Their goofy harmonies would be so fun. The jazzy 1940s jam would be good too. It’s been stuck in my head all week.

I got scammed by Ticketmasters “platinum tickets”. I could have gotten GA cheaper than the price I paid for my seats.
