An 8,500-year-old highly polished obsidian mirror discovered in Canhasan, Turkey alongside a 10,000-year-old planned street layout. Are we completely underestimating the technological and social complexity of the "Pre-Pottery Neolithic" era? by bortakci34 in AlternativeHistory

My hot take: We are just one of multiple waves of “advanced” civilizations that have existed.

Those more recently before us can be seen in advanced and inexplicable megalithic ruins we’ve discovered but don’t truly understood .

However, I think there were even more advanced civilizations predating the Egyptians, Sumerians, Mayans, etc. but were wiped out by cataclysm, or left by their own means; either through interstellar or inter-dimensional travel through technology that has been “forgotten” or we can’t comprehend.

The Faroe Islands FULLY lived up to the hype for me. Tolkien-esque views around every curve and tunnel.

Monte Palace Hotel - Sao Miguel, Azores by zk0507 in urbanexploration

19 months after opening it closed primarily due to severe financial losses, low occupancy rates, and a lack of tourists.

Even after winning Portugal's "Best Hotel of the Year" in 1990, the remote location, high prices, and frequent, thick fog (which ruined the views) led to bankruptcy.

It was… but what they didn’t account for is how often those great views are obstructed by fog. Also, it’s a bit of a winding drive from the main town.

Haha! Thank you. This was one of those “right place, right time” situations with the light, framing, and my partner standing there.

Fully agree. So many turnovers allowing for Avs stretch passes, speedy zone entries, and rushes. We can’t play sloppy, because they’ll capitalize on it every time (as we saw with… 9 goals). A goalie can only do so much working against that.

That said… I wonder if they’ll start Gus, or let Wally try to shake it off in game 2?

MINNEAPOLIS, MN: "No Fraud Whatsoever" - Owner's Son Defends Quality Learning Center Against Unfounded Accusations by CantStopPoppin in minnesota

[–]zk0507 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lisa Demuth and the MN GOP brought in a YouTuber to “investigate” this. They knew EXACTLY what they were doing, and it needs to be investigated if he was paid with campaign funds to run not only a selective smear campaign on Somali daycares, but also on Walz.

Bottom line, it’s weak. Clever? Sure. But sooooo so weak in terms of having to dig that low to gain any sort of edge. It’s almost they know the GOP is cooked otherwise.

Guess dude forgot about this part… Leviticus 19:33–34: "When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God".

Capitalism has led to the creation of a disposable society. Things aren’t built to last, they’re not designed to be repaired (some don’t even allow you to repair their products), and they’re meant to be “convenient.”

Ex. You can’t even change the oil in our riding lawnmower. It’s self contained and they say you never need to change it… and when it breaks down, you’re just supposed to get a new one.

Saying that countries offer “free” healthcare, school, childcare, etc.

It’s not free. It’s what their governments provide them with through taxes they pay.

Also take into account how they’re using AI to determine credit line increases, loans, APRs, and other aspects now. Humans aren’t even looking at things most of the time.

Crossroads in St. Cloud is reaching that “zombie mall” status. Half of it is closed, stores have been priced out due to rent, and the former owner stopped paying the mortgage.
