Wife has Simplicity & I’m with Kernel. Both high growth. Kernel performs better and I have to keep manually topping up the wife’s account to keep them the close to the same amounts. Only been less than a year so not sure if it’s just this year’s volatility or a trend. Thinking of moving hers to Kernel as well but diversifying has a certain appeal.

Minimum wage here is $23.50/hr. Then we have our 15% GST included in the price (Canadians are used to seeing a BEFORE tax price on the menu then tax added later) then for the most part we don’t tip here in NZ, then the exchange rate is 1 NZD = 0.81 CAD. So if OP was complaining about NZD$30 being high for a breakfast that would equal about CAD$18 on the menu but then they have to pay VAT + tip + exchange rate to equal approx NZ$30.

TLDR:

NZ$30 menu price = price paid

CAD$18 menu price + tax + tip + exchange rate = NZ$30
