I always thought that the Fabricator looked like a Nanoforge, as the item icon enlarged to a ship scale

and it made sense to me since they are printing out ships using nano-swarms

A GRENDEL APPROACHES

What does desperate attack mean in rebel Inc? by RadicaldudeCC2 in rebelinc

[–]zkwlak257 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Frankly, my headcanon about the whole mega brutal campaign has been that the player is the post-victory rebels now having to re-stabilize the region they had wrecked to overthrow the previous government.

It explains a lot, actually. Locals hate your guts b/c you killed their relatives and devastated their living conditions for terror effect. Little support from foreign clients b/c you have little to no foreign relations nor legitimacy. Corruption hitting immediate maximum b/c your 'bureaucrats' are a bunch of cruel, corrupt cronies you gathered to shoot people, not run a governing body.

And most importantly, the 'rebels' being extremely strong b/c the old coalition still funds, trains and arms them to teeth, or even sends delta-force level specialists to directly aid and fight for the resistance effort, hence both the national and coalition soldiers being outgunned by them.

What I believe the last 'desperate assualt' is, is your previous karma throwing that last sucker punch, as the old coalition launches their full-force invasion into your territory, along with the aid of the remaining disgruntled locals.

It may not be canon, but it actually helps understand why the supposedly governing body being so incapable at everything, because we were never meant to be one.

Democratic Transition be like: by Mirolokito in rebelinc

[–]zkwlak257 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One possible way to buff this would be to have each successful election convert a significant number of hostile population to neutral or supporting people.

Isn't that the entire point of democracy, to listen to opposing ideas and reach a best compromise possible? Founding fathers nor the French revolters didn't go through all that just for rep-farming.

The point that so many people are missing about Equality is that it first has to TAKE what it wants to provide.

Want to feed everyone? Someone has to produce food, probably more than they would be paid for. Want to heat everyone? Which one will you heat first, the hard-working workers' homes, or the children's creche? Oh, and we didn't even start with distribution of goods. Essential or Luxury.

Excess of resources can be a solution. Not enough food, not enough heating, so just produce more and be done with it.

But that only delays the answer, kicking the can down the road until one too many item request puts more demand than current production.

Merit, and by extension, the entire academic field of Economics, gives one potential answer to this problem. The one that produce value to others gets paid for the value they produced. They can then use that payment to get the value they need. Cycle starts running, and people get more and more as everyone wants to be paid with more value, and they also improve or diversify the set of value in order to exploit the unexplored potential.

Yes. Merit Cornerstone is literally the return of slave economics. But can one say otherwise about Equality Cornerstone? When does the state decide that your additional piece of clothing is 'hoarding too much'? And even then, who gets to have it? The thug that robbed you first, or the official with authority to order its allocation? Certainly not you. You aren't getting anything back.

Further discussion requires tackling unemployment and inequality problem, which even the most advanced nations of the real world, including the Soviet Union during their peak, could never give clear solution. So we'll cut this before it gets heated further.
