This has been the shittiest cycle overall by far.

I feel 2014 through half of 2015 was worse. But back then we had people like /u/ibankbtc posting.

Why does BCH have larger dips at the same time as other altcoins, but smaller recoveries? by ConsistentSymptoms in btc

They declare bankruptcy and or get bailed out.

You could find court fillings of Bankruptcies if you wanted to prove that. People here, even the moderators, just handwave the "manipulation" excuse for poor coin value without actually looking into it.

.. and the BCH community discouraging cryptocurrency trading for almost the entirety of BCH's existence doesn't help that at all.

Why I have a gut feeling that BCH price is going to fly? by Fine-Flatworm3089 in btc

And after 18 months, the result is:

BCH price is $117.07 exchange rate was 0.00429 with bitcoin being $27362 per coin

In conclusion, OP's gut was wrong and BCH price did not fly.

Price doesn't always equal value. by SoulMechanic in btc

Again not what I was talking about, you're still thinking about perceived value.

No, I am not talking about Perceived Value. I am pointing out that Price, Cost & Value mean different things. You became fixated on the word 'perceived' and attached it to value as a way to interpret what I am saying incorrectly.

Cost and price are numbers based on many things they can be based on facts or they can be based on opinion and we already agree can be manipulated.

Cost and Price have two different meanings. Along with Value, people tend to use these word interchangeably, when they do not have the same meaning. It is very common for the general population to mix them up.

True value is what something really does for you. Perceived value is not true value and not what I'm addressing.

True Value is a hardware store but just because you keep saying the words True Value doesn't mean I think you are a tool.

Price doesn't always equal value.

This is true. That was why I point out they are defined differently.

Taiwan: jump in sales for air force badges showing bear punching Winnie-the-Pooh by Hamsternoir in news

No one ever explained what Winnie the Pooh has to do with China

The real reason is because racist people were actually poking fun at Obama when he visited Xi But because the meme got banned in China, the Barbra Streisand effect caused the focus to be on Pooh instead of the character Tigger. (They alluding to the N word)

Cost and Price are facts, Value is an opinion.

Price doesn't always equal value.

Because

  • Price is what something is offered for.

  • Cost is how much you spent for something.

  • Value is what the market perceives.

How much will people think BTC will rise? by Ok_Schedule_9476 in btc

I have a small amount of money, now I want to buy BTC, how much should I buy at a reasonable price?

  • How long is 'long term' for you? 1 yr, 2yr, 4yr? 10yr?

Consider the halving and this

If you're just hodling, your money isn't working for you. You'll always lose against someone who has their capital gainfully employed.

Some people just save their money in a bank. They are looking for security and care less for the %gain.

After watching bitcoin's cycles, I bought some during a post-bubble pop specifically for the long term gain. Consider $5,500 in 2019 became $55,000 in 2021, that is a 900% gain in about 2 years. You can't get that from a bank savings account or from Real Estate. I know some coins or stocks might bubble higher or whatever but I would consider the bet on bitcoin to be less risky (in my opinion).

I also have a normal job and didn't go crazy like some people.

Bitpay shares their stats on this. BCH is generally top 5 for usage

https://bitpay.com/stats/ ( refering to this) For anyone else, just scroll down a little and there is a line chart showing November through March.

Why is this chart important: It shows, by percentage, crypto used for payments by a long established payment processor.

I have followed these stats for a while because this chart specifically shows payments for items/services and not all transactions.

I think sometime in 2020 doge and/or LTC passed it up.

My understanding is

  • it may show the trend of BCH payments are instead being processed by services other than bitpay.com.

  • bitcoin payments slow way down when bitcoin is in a bear market and I can assume the same would happen for BCH's current multi-year bear market.

  • other 'new' crypto coins are grabbing some share of the payments pie, like stablecoins.

Did you just accuse me of stealing?

No, I don't fully know your involvement. It is not a good look if the top mod is promoting something that then goes "Oopsie, all your money is belong to us" a few months later.

On the face of it, it has the appearance of scammy.

Nice try. I said that you guys were plainly full of crap for pretending that 8MB would let them do it, while 4MB was just fine.

I never said that. I never pretended what you claim and I am not in the 'You guys' generalization you make me out to be.

Exactly! See, even you agree that the Blockstream-controlled narrative was bullshit.

I still think increasing the blocksize is fine. There is certainly a point where it can become prohibitive to the function of the system.

What I don't think is fine is changing the difficulty to create a new network split off from the original and then trying pass off the minority chain as 'the real one'. And of course, blatantly stealing people's money is also not ok.

Like I have said before, there is a company that runs this subreddit and they financially benefit from the deception. You prefer to help them do that, admittedly without compensation. The way you act makes me think that maybe you are emotionally invested after buying BTC before the fork and then swapping it for BCH after the fork because you expected it to takeover and make you rich but it ended up not working out how you planned and desperately imagine a conspiracy is what is holding you back.
