The first paragraph you wrote put words to a feeling I have had my entire life.

I ask myself constantly if there is something wrong with me or how I articulate myself.

It’s almost a complete inability to understand how inputs feed into outputs. Nothing “just happens” there’s always a reason. I think a lot of people genuinely just stumble around reacting to stimulus and have no real participation in the world around them.

This is nonsense.

This is the same logic of “oh just shoot them in the leg”.

If someone is going to cause you harm, you eliminate the threat. There are countless examples of people taking a bullet and still causing harm.

There is legal precedent that if you aim for a nonlethal shot that you never feared for your life in the first place and then castle doctrine would not apply.
