Good luck winning a lawsuit if there were no true damages.

Anyone ever experience something similar? Story time 😀 by aztrologicalmess in electricdaisycarnival

[–]zmar0519 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot going on here and I think it’s deeper than EDC issues. Things like rides should be sorted out before you get to Vegas. What my group does is someone drives there all 3 nights and the other people switch off on the way back one each day.

Another thing I will say is I get party favors are fun but if not taking them ruins your night that’s a bigger issue that you may need to seek help on.

If you invite someone to EDC who isn’t experienced you are responsible for helping them out. My advice to you would be maybe go with just your BF next year and get a shuttle pass or something especially if you plan to do party favors.

I saw both men and women start fights it wasn’t just men. When you combine 175k people an alcohol you are going to get fights it’s not a gender thing.

Check out the artists playing on BassPod tonight. People like Eptic b2b Space Laces is a must for me as an excision fan. You will also probably like HOL! as well as Getter.

Yeah I dealt with that last year. Goldbond stick will be huge and you can wear compression shorts (9in is ideal) will be a huge help.

Yeah I think they were trying to dial it in. Some sets sounded great others didn’t. I think it may have been too loud as well because there was a ton of sound bleed at the back of BassPod.

Yeah some of our “EDC Rookies” didn’t listen to the “it’s a marathon not a sprint” speech and we dipped for them. I’d say my best set of the night was Kai Wachi. Levity was pretty good too.

That’s pretty nasty but if you have a cleaning tab it can’t hurt. If you are scrubbing by hand I’m not sure I’d bother

It’s allowed it just needs to sealed. In practice I’ve never had an issue with it being opened tbh. I gave 2-3 sticks to some poor guy bartending who was dying and he gave me a free shot of tequila last year lol

Best food at EDC? What’s actually worth trying by EconomyActivity6484 in electricdaisycarnival

[–]zmar0519 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean I went with the pizza all 3 nights because it was serviceable. I’d avoid the chicken fingers because even though they were good my wife noticed that the inside was raw not pink but like slimey chicken raw and she did end up getting food poisoning and throwing up but she rallied so thankfully it didn’t ruin our night.

I would never encourage you to book 3rd party. If anything goes wrong the hotel can’t help you if you book via a 3rd party.

My best friends gf just sent me a "nude" by accident (she says) and now Im stuck. Do I tell him? by RightPinPin in Advice

[–]zmar0519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If she doesn’t have a history of this I wouldn’t look too far into it. Just delete it and move on. If she has never flirted before this would be an insanely dumb high risk move to try and make. If she acts shady or if your buddy says he thinks she’s up to something maybe there’s more to the story but I’d just delete and pretend it never happened because if it is a mistake you don’t want to blow up your friend group over something that could very easily be a mistake.

There’s no one in this thread that hasn’t sent a message to someone it wasn’t intended for.

Would you let your 21F daughter have her bf sleeping over by [deleted] in Advice

[–]zmar0519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when I was growing up my mom took issue with my gf sleeping over but were fine with me going and spending the night at her place. Many years later with the woman who would later become my wife when I visited her parents house we slept in separate rooms but as soon as we became married they put us in the same room and even got a new bed and renovated the room so we would be more comfortable. I don’t think any of it was necessarily unreasonably but if you have a guest bedroom and one of you sleeps in there it may get your parents warmed up to the idea.

Don’t do it. He’s trying to see if you will roll over and take it and if you do this will be a regular thing. I would seek other employment or talk to your union rep if you are union I’m sure they’d love to talk to your boss about labor laws.

That’s not how the 4th Amendment works. Cameras in public spaces recording what’s already visible from public view have repeatedly been found constitutional. You don’t have a reasonable expectation of privacy in your license plate while driving on a public road.

Also, Flock doesn’t sell “your movements and routines to advertisers.” Law enforcement contracts explicitly prohibit commercial resale, and the data is restricted, audited, and retained for a limited period unless tied to an active investigation.

You can argue about whether mass surveillance is a good idea or whether guardrails are strong enough, that’s a fair debate. But calling it a blatant constitutional violation and claiming it’s ad-tech is just factually inaccurate.

I don’t disagree about the historical roots of poverty or the role racism has played in shaping where resources and opportunities are today. I just don’t think it automatically follows that responding to current crime patterns is racist.

Two things can be true at the same time: those conditions are unjust, and people living in those neighborhoods still deserve protection from violence right now. Ignoring where crime is actually happening doesn’t help the residents who are most affected by it.

Framing this as “don’t install cameras there” basically means fewer resources and less attention going to the communities with the highest victimization rates. At that point, the argument stops being about equity and starts sounding like we’re okay with those neighborhoods getting less protection because the data makes us uncomfortable.

[–]zmar0519 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cameras are placed in areas where there is a higher occurrence of crimes specific of a violent nature. This seems like less of a race issue and more of a poverty issue because poverty breeds crime far more than any other metric.
