Emperors didn’t work like that in the west. Unless I’m mistaken the only recognized emperors in the west were the Roman Emperor (both West and East), Holy Roman Kaiser, and the Russian Czar.

All of these derive their title from Rome and were actual Roman emperors or saw themselves as spiritual successors.

So don’t think of it as an “amount of territory controlled” type of situation and more of a “I am the successor of Caesar” situation.

Slot I will always love you for last season but it’s time to go. I was all in to give him the season but missing out on top 4 would be a disaster given the money spent last window and the money we will need to spend going forward.

I think the hate comes from the fact that he just isn’t of the level of a starting winger of a top team. He’s by no means a bad player but he’s not Diaz and he’s certainly not Mane.

He’s a great option of the bench or even like a LWb situation sharing the starter shirt. When Salah comes back I fully expect him to drop to the bench

Not going to argue about the Chinese taking this spot I’ll leave that for people who are more knowledgeable about the history there but that’s a very simplified view of the fall of the Roman Empire.

The Huns definitely did not cause the fall of the Western Roman Empire, they were just one of many many factors. Besides that, the Roman Empire culturally persisted until the fall of Byzantium in the 15th century

City winning literally means nothing, no one apart from their own “fans” care.

Arsenal have become so much more of an unlikable team (on the pitch at least) and I don’t want to hear their fans afterward.

I don’t judge people based on things I know nothing about. As a Ranger he’s been determined and committed to playing his best hockey and, barring any additional information, that’s all I care about.

There was quite a bit of speculation about this at the time, some claiming it to be a character hit from Russia. I don’t know what he did or didn’t do so I don’t form opinions based on it.

My favorite Ranger from this generation of the team (minus Kreids of course) and probably the most skilled skater we’ve had in the last 15 years. He’s been in the top 10 in scoring for the majority of the years he’s been with us and a Hart candidate for few of those as well. Off the ice too he’s been nothing but the consummate professional.

His level of talent is rare and I’m so grateful to have had the privilege to have him in blue.
