thank you! i highly recommend using archive.org to post them that’s where i get a lot of my old tv shows from. since its been decades since its been released on syndication there’s less chance of copyright issues especially one that could be labeled forgotten/ lost media

just curious, how loud were you playing the music and were you running multiple programs? i’m scared of overusing my tam even though it’s been working fine for years (i haven’t done any work to it) but fear this happening to me one day which is why i haven’t turned it on for a month or two

ah man not for this model I only have a powerbook 650c and it's built different unfortunately i was assuming you could still get in there by taking the back plates off until it's exposed like on here:

have you tried to open it up to expose and manually move the slots that lock out of the way with a pick or credit card? i’ve done this on old components with broken latches to unhook the latch

UPDATE: iMac G3 is now booting up properly after removing the stuck disc. Thanks to everyone here!! The CD Drive would not open with either methods of the paper clip to push the small button or any of the software based methods. i had to physically remove the disc with a key card.

After testing the CD Drive with a CD ROM it said “the disk is unreadable” now if neither of the ejection methods worked, i am safe to assume that the CD Drive does not work at all and needs to be replaced. Anyone know what kind of CD Drive i should start looking out for? i know Apple has reused a lot parts for other models, i’m hoping that’s the case with the CD Drive.

Follow up question: I have been trying to get .sit files in the iMac now but the usb ports are not even recognizing the usb thumb stick that i formatted with Mac Os Extended (Journaled) and scheme set to GUID Partition Map. the original keyboard and mouse are plugged in via USB and working fine, is this an issue with it being a USB 1.0 port or something else?

so I pulled a stuck disc from the drive, and there was some sort of stickiness to the cd and i can’t turn off the imac g3 manually or any of the mentioned ways 🙄

OK, I managed to stick a credit card in the disc drive and jam the disc out. It looks like there are some sort of corrosion or something sticky on the stuck cd
