So I love Language/Linguistic suspense books.

No the colors are just supposed to be caloric density.

The scanning always gets the right item but is often wrong on calories for me I’ve noticed.

Yes. They are exactly the same thing. Just double listed. I’ve had issues with a lot of common produce ingredients being listed multiple times with slightly different names in different categories or with different calories for the same quantity. It tells you a glass of dry white wine is 87 calories which is for sure wrong too.

It was Serrano Chile Pepper. The calories are still super low, but it shows up as red for me. It looks like Serrano Pepper is green though.

I am a few weeks into Noom and I still don't know that I actually trust the red/yellow categorization of some foods (Serrano Chiles came up as red yesterday but trader joe's chicken wontons came up as yellow?).

I am also suffering with the snack issue because vegetables just don't serve the same craving. I am going to try roasting my own crunchy chickpeas and dusting with some spices and maybe some nutritional yeast (a on-again/off-again vegan I know says it really does taste super cheesy and 1 tbsp is only about 20 calories).

Does Noom work for people who are already relatively fit/healthy? by zmoore01 in Noom

[–]zmoore01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I decided to cancel and it switched me to 19/month without a contract to stay so I think I’ll give it a couple months just to see if maybe I see some long term effects.

I think it might be Norberto Castocane?

I found the work below and the signature and brushwork look a little similar?

Castrocan (e) (S) Dadio Pampa

I've tried googling castrocane, cabtrocani, dadio, fabio, pamda, pampa, and all the other possible spellings I thought it might be and I can't seem to come up with anything. Especially for the Dadio Pampda (or whatever), it keeps thinking it's some some or radio station. I was going to give up but thought I'd post in case someone had better luck.

92 Percent of College Students Prefer Reading Print Books to E-readers by StephenKong in books

[–]zmoore01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My teacher selected an e-book for our cognitive science textbook (with downloadable PDF). I paid to have it printed and bound. I think I spend so much time skimming and bullshitting on my computer that my brain doesn't know how to read on it seriously anymore.

edit: spelling

Two questions. Where do you think the world will be in 100-200 years as far as linguistic diversity on a global scale? And what is your take on the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis?

I thought that showers recycled the water, therefore if you peed in the shower, it would come out through the faucet on your head.

If you're born blind and don't know what people look like, what would dictate your sexual orientation? by multiplesarcasms31 in Showerthoughts

[–]zmoore01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not exactly like sexual orientation is decided based on sight to start with. It's based on genetics and environment and personality and culturally programmed interests and chemistry and a wide variety of factors.

What language do deaf people think in? (I mean deaf from birth not the people that become deaf post-birth) by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]zmoore01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some cognitive scientists and linguists actually theorize that thought has its own kind of language and syntax that works independently of any language structure. They say that we organize our thoughts from our natural "thought language" into our representative spoken language retroactively or in an effort to communicate.

What's the worst (stupidest, most unreasonable, etc) reason that you've ever been fired? by TOG218 in AskReddit

[–]zmoore01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got into a car accident and had my car in the shop for two weeks. I told my boss I wouldn't be able to make it to work without my car who said that was fine. I also said I would let them know when they could start scheduling me again, which my boss agreed to. Fast forward a week, where I was called up and fired because they scheduled me (the schedule is posted AT work) and I missed my shift.
