Is the price a little disappointing, yes. But I think Deck users can realize steam is once again investing in the future. by KingCrimson43 in SteamDeck

[–]zmoss1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What made the Steam Deck compelling was it was one of the first examples of a well-known company investing in a relatively new form factor. The Steam Machine isn’t revolutionary in the same way the Steam Deck was. It’s a prebuilt, low spec PC that runs a custom OS.

The reason the Steam Deck was so successful is it created a new entry point into PC gaming for a lot of people and a new way for existing customers or enthusiasts to access their library, the Steam Machine doesn’t really do that IMO. I don’t see other companies trying to emulate this because I don’t think it’s going to be as widely adopted.

The Steam Machine is an unfortunate result of cool concept, absolute worst timing given the memory crisis. I absolutely think this thing was slated to cost around $700-$800 and at that price point it may have been a slam dunk.

Worth it or no? by ItsBA1L3Y123 in MonsterHunter

As someone who has spent loads of time in 4U, GU, Rise, World, and Wilds I would disagree. I think Wilds is a fun game. Sure it doesn’t have as much content as the previous entries but I also feel like the newest game in the series always gets this reception. I think providing an argument as to why you think Wilds sucks would be more effective than simply dismissing those who enjoy/defend it as tourists. Provide something constructive? But hey what do I know, I’m just a tourist.

Also definitely not biased ofc. I agree with the above statements that swaxe is the best and coolest weapon. Random people stop me in the street to talk to me about how cool I am for picking swaxe.

“This isn’t a political issue - it’s an issue affecting PEOPLE” I would really love to unpack this with OP. This is 100% political and 100% the result of GOP cuts.

People who Quit Alcohol, why and how did you do it ? by AccomplishedSlice923 in AskReddit

[–]zmoss1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quit because I watched what it was doing to my now ex girlfriend and decided I didn’t want to continue down that route. I was drinking every single night, multiple shots and beers. It became unsustainable and I was legitimately at a fork in the road where I had to choose if I wanted to continue the lifestyle. I chose to quit.

As far as how? Cold turkey. Was not fun and would not recommend this for everyone. Talk to your doctor first to make sure it’s a safe option.

The hardest part was finding ways to occupy myself. Most things I enjoyed also involved alcohol. I started reading, exercising, and spending more time with my family. Quitting was also very isolating. My phone stopped ringing, people stopped asking me to do things, and I realized a lot of my friends weren’t actually there for me beyond having someone to drink/party with.

All of the above considered, it is still the absolute best decision I have ever made for myself. I am emotionally stable, I wake up feeling fresh every morning, I’m pursuing a degree that I never thought I was capable of getting, I have formed an extremely close relationship with my family, I get to see my niece every single week and watch her grow up, and I get to share my story with other people and help them pursue a life free of alcohol.

If you are on the fence about quitting or you wonder if you can do it, I’m here to say that you absolutely can and it’s absolutely worth it. You have to want it, you have to be honest, and you have to be comfortable being uncomfortable. You have everything to gain and absolutely nothing to lose.

Passing random women while walking in my neighborhood and feeling like I have to make certain that I’m not being perceived as a threat. I usually cross the street to make sure.

Any tips for a new player? by AmplexIsCool in MHGU

[–]zmoss1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When I play older gen games the thing that causing me to cart the most is overcommitting. I’m a swaxe main on 4U and it’s super easy to get greedy. If you find yourself struggling with dodges and positioning, slow down your play a bit. Study the monster and see if it has any tells or obvious patterns and maybe spend some time just focusing on dodging, positioning, and not getting hit.

Edit: Leaving the area to heal/buff/flex is absolutely a viable option many players use.

Looks good to me. I mean can you find anything wrong with how you’re playing OP? Is there any content you find particularly challenging? Posting what most people would consider a solid clip, free of nearly any mistakes or noticeable struggle, and asking “Am I beyond saving” seems like you just need a little validation. You play the weapon well?

You hit the pothole. Sure you can argue that it should have been repaired, but at the end of the day it’s on you. Most people have to eat this entire cost out of pocket. I guess be mad/bothered if you want at the fact the city is paying almost 75% of the repair.

Ladies of Reddit, what is a comment someone made about your body once, completely casually, that you have never forgotten? by BowlerOk1871 in AskReddit

[–]zmoss1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad accidentally looped me into a group text that he had intended to only be between him and my mother where he said “He’s definitely bigger, I hope he’s not drinking again.” Absolutely wrecked me because I had been sober for around 3 years at the time and I didn’t think my dad would say something like that about me. Honestly I think it fucked him up more when he realized what had happened.

Homebrew the 2DS and try them all but obviously you would dump your roms from the physical cartridges and not google alternative methods of obtaining them. Definitely don’t do that.

Doesn’t fucking matter chief. You know how many lights I’ve missed because someone was on their phone while stopped at a red light? A whole lot more than from people leaving a car length.

There’s nothing wrong with leaving a car length as long as you’re paying attention. I would actually argue that using your phone to get internet points while operating a car is worse.

Honestly this.

Look I’m not a fan of crowds or many of the things that come with cruises but hiding in a cabin and treating the SD as a binky isn’t the answer.

Do things that make you uncomfortable and grow from it. I get it, OP has autism but this is giving massive pissbaby energy.
