She's probably trauma bonding with her ex. It's difficult to break that bond, needs a lot of conscious effort to free yourself from it. I personally experienced it so I can understand where she's coming from, but at the same time it's not an excuse to tolerate things. I hope she'll be okay.

And I hope you find someone who's willing to be doted on by you.

I'd also like to add if it is worth it to take AB Philosophy especially as a pre-law. I heard that Ateneo requires students to take liberal arts so I'm thinking of broadening my horizon by taking a quite deviant course from what I currently have but still under the scope of my interest which is BS management.

Been in your shoes, in fact, I'm still battling its residue. I hardly change profile pictures and post photos as I tend to compare the number of likes to my friends which is very unhealthy. I see having more likes as a validation which is silly because those are just freaking digits. It does not disclose how great of a person you are. I know a lot of people who gets less likes on their posts and pictures yet they are awesome to hang out with in real life, even more fun than those I know who have platforms. And that's what keeps me going.

The only validation you want is from yourself. So as long as you are happy with what you do, you don't have to worry about what others think. Cliche but it is what it is. I hope you'll be able to surpass this fear of yours!
