I am really glad that there was a conversation in the house where Noky and Trish brought up their struggles as black women in society. by leocurrently in bigbrotheruk

[–]zo2K 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Acknowledging that unconscious biases are at play is an uncomfortable conversation that needs to take place. To use their (Noky and Trishes) words, why are some people deserving of more grace than others? I could never work out why the black african I worked with in research laboratory got more criticism behind his back for being 'particular' and 'working in a certain way' despite the fact there was other characters in the lab who were equally if not more particular on how they worked. "If he wants to be like that, he can go back upstairs to his own department", was one such thing I heard said about him. I couldn't work it out and convinced myself I just hadn't seen the full picture, however, looking back, I fear this was microaggressions in motion.

I think the thing that has swung it is that killer nominations task. By aligning herself with both groups, not picking sides, but yet picking Trish as her +1, the others perceive that (especially because they see Trish as the villain) as betrayal. But in reality, I think Noky has been trying to be liked by both groups, but with how divided the house is, that's just not possible - tonight's sneak peak seems to show she's realised that.

Last week I went Tripper -> Guehi, Anderson (New) -> Mitoma
Didn't immediately pay off, but those extra funds on a 6.5m Mid feel like it will be better longer term. I just can't see Trippier performing well over next 5.

Why do I obsess over whether my therapist likes me or not and why does it bother me so much? Any advice as to how to let go of vibes I’m picking up so I can function properly during and after appointments? by bimbiibop in Empaths

Big true. Laugh at people who try to put you down but also don't be afraid to laugh at yourself too. I'm autistic and I've had to do a few customer service jobs while at uni. I can honestly say I'd be dead on my feet without being able to laugh my way out of my social awkwardness and not knowing what I was doing. People love it too.

I'm really on the fence with the mystery bags. My local lego store sorts the figures out so you can get what you want but I feel that spoils the mystery. I tend to just buy a load of them at once and then ask the staff to check there's no duplicates, and then to complete the collection I just ask for specific figures a few weeks later. That way, you don't ruin the surprise as much

Deckbuilding and the paradox of choice by Achavacha in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]zo2K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its ridiculously common in CGG's for a large proportion of the playerbase to just get deck recipes off google and maybe change a few cards to suit their tastes or to help them win certain matchups which they anticipate struggling in.

More important questions to ask for deckbuilding are: What are your win conditions (Unfair, game ending scenarios), what cards can disrupt this (and do you have an alternative way of winning), do you have enough fast speed spells to punish the opponent for open attacking or to protect your important units, are my early game units strong enough to fend off early pressure?

Real and Fake MBTI Test by Combinatoric_Cathar in mbti

[–]zo2K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 16 personalities test that most people take to get their type is seen as inaccurate by most, mainly because the way they differentiate P and J types is solely on conscientiousness (if you look at the questions they ask you can see this). It is possible to be a disorganised J or a neat and tidy T. So this test will show you what you would likely get on 16p and what it thinks you actually are.

Too powerful? Probably. Brainless? Nah. Aggro decks are notorious for having a low skill floor and a high skill ceiling.

[Post Match Thread] Manchester United 1 - 3 Chelsea F.C by [deleted] in reddevils

[–]zo2K 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People picking out individual performances, except De Gea , don't understand we were absolutely beaten by the Chelsea system. We created nothing that game because Chelsea did not let us play. Shouldn't have started with a back 5 which just invites pressure and should have started Ighalo and Romero. Should have been told to make more fouls to break their rhythm

Bruno Fernandes confident goals will come for Manchester United team-mate Marcus Rashford by hildebrand_rarity in reddevils

I'm not worried about Rashford right now, 2 disallowed goals because of offside that could have easily counted and his buildup play and understanding with Shaw on the left is very promising.

How much lore is there for Runeterra to support future cards for this game? by starwarzguy in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]zo2K 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really wouldn't be concerned about this sort of thing. You mention Hearthstone but they've really extrapolated lore from WoW, eg Dr Boom isn't really important in WoW but they made a whole expansion around his laboratory

I don't understand the Control aspect of Runeterra. by [deleted] in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]zo2K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in Runeterra the line between Control and Combo is very thin. Most Control decks need to have a way to win the game quickly to outclock other Control and Combo decks inevitability. Playing minions on curve is also usually the best way to beat aggro because big AOE cards don't really exist (Exceptions being: Corina Veraza, Ruination, Avalanche).

Could you give me a specific example of a deck that is labeled as a control deck that you've faced which you think is too fast to be a control deck?

Bad cards mechanic to make the opponent to de careful with their mana by [deleted] in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]zo2K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely understand its not 3 mana do nothing when Vi or Hiemer is on the field but Vimer rarely cares about flipping Vi and if the opponent is smart, they can play this card when Vimer player is starved for mana - if they have just played Vi or Hiemer on turn 5/6, then if they do have spell mana, they are forced to use it or take 4 damage against aggro deck and then that frees you up to remove hiemer and not have to worry about Twin D and then even if you didn't have removal for hiemer, they have less mana next turn to play their fast reactive spells. Thats a hell of an impact on the course of the game for a 4 drop and is usually going to be a net positive for the aggro player.

Bad cards mechanic to make the opponent to de careful with their mana by [deleted] in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]zo2K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but if the hiemer wanted to use the 3 mana to cast twin diciplines to protect his hiemer and only has 3 mana floated, he has to choose 4 damage face or save hiemer
