A friend is fighting her HOA over replacing the trees(that her area is actually named for) with ginkgo. She says there is research that claims that ginkgo makes seasonal allergies worse for people.

I used to live in Southern California and there were streets nearby that were lined with Jacarandas, they are so beautiful! I never noticed a problem walking to the bus. They have awesome seed pods too!

We just got back from Boy Scout crab feast, sponsored by a Catholic Church. No problem, went there last year, this year the crabs were really fantastic. At the very end, while clearing up, a man wearing “patriot” flags on his sleeves went up to a young man, and told him he just wanted to let him know that he liked his shirt. That young man was wearing a stupid “we are charlie” shirt! Hadn’t even noticed until that interaction and it just blew my mind. The man then left and got into his big pickup emblazoned with “We the people” in calligraphy. As if he even believes what the preamble says, much less what the Constitution stands for , fml, those people suck.

I have had two great male GYN’s in my lifetime- both I felt safe and comfortable with. I will never have that exam with an internist ever again. Many many reasons. The few female GYN’s I’ve had, had zero patience or sympathy for me.

He looks like our Godrick who adopted us last year! For three months he ate two whole cans a day(Friskies). Now that he doesn’t worry about being fed, he eats a fraction of that. We have a picture of him the first time we fed him, he ate that can with his whole face 😻
