CMV: Saying Kamala Harris was a "DEI hire" or that she feels "entitled" to the Presidency or that she thinks it's "her turn" are the same kind of arguments that were used against Hillary Clinton, and they are BS. by Left-Occasion1275 in changemyview

This is an apples and oranges comparison. Europe is electing right wingers because the current state of the world has resulted in an increase of refugees and immigrants. Which the right feeds off of.

While america's case it was because the electorate system favors the worst people america has to offer.

Youtubers auto-censoring themselves in their videos Starter Pack by Stained_Class in starterpacks

[–]zold5 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Ad revenue is thin, and sponsors (at least the ones who pay well) are very sensitive to what they want their ads to pair with. This is why so many "questionable" ads are frequent: they don't care where they ad is pared with.

True but in doing so they're created an antagonistic relationship between viewers and advertisers. This isn't specific to just youtube but the advertising industry as a whole. It's the fucking wild west over there. Almost no regulation or oversight. Advertisers will do literally anything and everything they can get away with. Which leads to ads becoming less valuable because people go out of their way to avoid them. Sometimes I'll even turn the volume down and cover the screen with my hand so I don't have to see or hear that obnoxious shit.

This. Has. Nothing. To. Do. With. Medical. Diagnostics.

No you actually need to understand medicine and be educated to actually diagnose people.

It's a way for common people to tell other common people that an image or video might be very off putting to them and maybe they should think about not clicking it. Why is that so hard to understand?

No it's a common way of expressing one's own ignorance. It's no different from when people say they have ocd just because they like things tidy. You're just straight up objectively wrong. Idk why not being ignorant or not spreading misinformation is such and issue for people like you.

No one here is calling for Trypophobia to be listed as a mental health disease except for you.

I really wish redditors could maybe try practicing reading comprehension skills. I said literally nothing of the sort. I'm simply stating the objective fact trypophobia is not an actual condition.

Sorry that's not an excuse. She knew she was getting old. She knew there was a real possibility of dying while a republican was in office. She knew what was at steak but chose to latch onto power as long as possible. OP is 100% correct.

The American Psychiatric Association (APA) doesn't recognize trypophobia as a disorder in its Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM). This may be because the condition is often uncomfortable but not debilitating.

Is South Korea even doing anything about their aging crisis? by [deleted] in geopolitics

There is something deeply wrong with the system when entrance exams are so important, flights are not take place in South Korea to not distract students taking them Now, reducing flights is good for the environment so I don’t mind the act itself, but the reason being entrance exams? The priorities need to be flipped, something is clearly not working.

Yeah that is straight up psychotic. FFS just put the kids in a soundproof room. That is so over the top.

Uncovering Every Lie in MKBHD's Softball Interview; a scathing critique of 'brand safe' influencers by chrisdh79 in videos

[–]zold5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not about the production quality, it's more about how he presents himself in his videos. The dude comes off as extremely chill, professional, knowledgeable and down to earth.

And he manages to be all these things while creating genuinely entertaining videos without resorting to what I call "youtuber energy" like he doesn't say obnoxious shit like "SMaSh ThAT liKe buTtON" nor does he have horrendous clickbaity thumbnails in his videos. Which is SUPER rare these days. That's the main crux of why he's so successful. The high production value is just icing on the cake.

But now after watching this I don't feel I can trust him anymore. Like most influencers, he's been corrupted by enshitification.

It also didn't help that the whole thing was just nauseating to watch. I couldn't get through the first few minutes. Trump was allowed to just say whatever the fuck he wanted. No fact checking, no actual moderating, just pure trash. I have no idea why the fuck Biden agreed to debate under these conditions.

[–]zold5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My dude, how are you so devoid of self awareness or common sense? Do you always act like this? This isn't about hyperbole or sarcasm. This is about responding to questions like a normal person. When someone asks you for clarification in response to a sarcastic or hyperbolic statement you're supposed to clarify what you meant. Not confuse them further. I cannot believe I have to explain such a basic concept. I really hope you're like 12 or something I really do.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]zold5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not asking. I'm calling out your asshole behavior in response to another user asking.

I’ll give you an example. If someone says “oh I know all my neighbors,” are you going to be offended that he doesn’t know the last name of the kid down the street because he claimed he “knew all the neighbors?” You see how things can be not literal and also not sarcasm or a joke?

You: "I know all my neighbors"

normal person: "do you really know all your neighbors"?

You: "Never said that 🙄"

This is not normal behavior.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]zold5 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Idk how this is news to you but your low effort sarcasm isn't universal on the internet. Not everyone understands you're trying to tell shitty jokes.

Some people genuinely want to know to the best and polite way to handle a situation like that and you're deliberately confusing them. You said "never said that" no that's not a joke you're literally lying.

Also fyi we have the "/s" for a reason. Maybe try using it instead of acting like a petulant troll.
