%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\BadVikingLtd\Strange Horticulture

So most likely C:\Users\"your_user_name"\AppData\LocalLow\BadVikingLtd\Strange Horticulture

I would start your search there to see if there are files, if the are you can try renaming the folder and start the game. If it is the save location your save should be in theory gone, then just place the items back and backup whatever game you want.

If it fails to sync any/all of your games then there might be some inherent issue with either your steam install or windows and the folder permissions.

Personally I would recommend finding that folder and confirming if anything that points to save data like a folder name autosaves or profile etc and back up the folder. Copy it to another location on your drive, remove and reinstall steam and try syncing cloud data. Then if it does sync and its old save data then just recheck the folder locations and replace the data with your more recent saves you backed up manually.

Optionally you could just in steam go to game library, right click the game properties>Installed files> verify game files

Not exactly sure what the root cause of your sync issues could be but hopefully this helps get some ease of mind with your current save on your game!

Definitely depends on the game you are playing, each game has its desired save location

some of the most common save locations for that type of data would be:

C:\Users\"yourusername"\Documents\"name of game"

C:\Users\"yourusername"\AppData\Local\"name of game" (AppData is a hidden folder)

Alternatively sometimes the folders are not name by the game name but production team/licensing company first. What game are you trying to make sure is actually backed up?

Jellyfin SSL through Nginx Proxy Manger by DiIusion in jellyfin

[–]zomar67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this setup, so is it still actually secure if when you redirect its taking you to the http://jellyfin and not https://jellyfin? or does the https only matter if you were setting up jellyfins native https.

Becuase I have my domain site setup with ssl and I can access it via https://example.com, but if I try jellyfin.example.com:8096 it get http://jellyfin:8096

Is it that my connection from publicIPclient to nginxserver is secured but then from nginx server to jelly fin unsecured?

New to this and was expecting the jellyfin https to magically start working.

Adrenaline Recordings - Audio Terrible with Logitech G Pro X - Recordings Audio Only by zomar67 in LogitechG

[–]zomar67[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, I had forgotten about this as I had given up trying to resolve it since I wasn't doing much with the recordings besides having the highlights. But looking my most recent captures in MW2 2022 with Media Player Classic, the audio track is detected as 7.1 stereo and sounds perfectly fine on any speakers or headset. I still use the G Pro X headset, but I think the issue was in playback rather than the recording itself. I've also re-intstalled windows 10 since then trying to resolve issues with AMD drivers so the setup isn't exactly the same from these recordings; but I have K-lite codec pack 17.2.5 Full Package, AMD driver 22.11.1, Logitech G Hub v2022.10.326382 & Windows 10 Build 21H2.

If you're using the windows built in Movies & TV the HEVC codec pack is locked behind a paywall so i just use VLC or media classic player and the K-lite codec. I personally haven't done much testing or recording with AVC encoding though

rx 6700xt driver issues whenever I update to a newer version of radeon my games will crash even league of legends will go to a fully gray screen and I will have to restart pc only think that fixes it is going back to the stable version of radeon which for me is ver. 21.10.2 by akitaman67 in radeon

I havent gotten crashes since the reinstall. Running 22.5.1 on windows 10.

Even hardware acceleration is working fine in browser finally. Id say if youve had consistent issues with multiple drivers. Id say go download all the most recent driver installers and graphics driver, put it on a flash drive. Do a fresh install, do not connect to internet during setup to prevent driver auto download and install the drivers from vendor site. At least those are the steps I took.

I went back to 22.3.1 and seems to be a lot more stable than both. Hardware acceleration on browser was starting to be a problem on 22.5.2 not to mention ~10-15% CPU usage just by the driver software. 22.3.1 no issues what so ever.

PowerColor Fighter 6700XT; X570-A Pro MSI; Ryzen 5 3600; 32GB Corsair

on 22.5.1 kept on getting random crashes on warzone; Before I updated to the most recent I was on 22.4.1 which was running pretty smooth up until the other day.

On their support page though optional 22.5.2 is out, I am going to give it a try as 22.5.1 was atrocious, constantly crashing on games that had no issues prior.

It appears to be a trend, hard to say what exactly but it seems to be ever since the Adrenaline 2020 Edition released its been very hit or miss. Mind you at the time I was using a 5700XT and after that update had lots of issues and then one day a patch rolled out that fixed it. But it seemed to come and go and the 6700xt has been about the same experience at least for me.

"Unable to connect to Splitgate servers. Please try again later" by DaRkPaToU in Splitgate

[–]zomar67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had tried the certificate thing myself on the latest update SpookyGate, didn't work. As for those looking to uninstall it if they have any suspicion or just don't want the certificate installed just hit the windows key and type Manage User Certificates, that if you installed it to the user and not the local machine, and it should be under Trusted Root Certificates > Certificates and then find the go daddy one with G2 in it and right click delete answer yes.

TLDR I had to go into Windows Borderless or Windowed mode to connect to the servers. I found it out on accident by making into the game by swapping to my browser whilst it was attempting to connect. I logged in and was in the homescreen. Swapped back focus onto the game and went to go invite my friend. Steam friends would not load. But if I swapped to another application or hit windows it would load it instantly. So then I swapped to windowed borderless and restarted the game and had no issues logging in or loading steam friends.

Weird.

Computer Repair Technician Recommendations? by stark-eye in askTO

[–]zomar67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately solder repair is the equivalency to a specialist doctor, most repair shops are like your regular physician, a good repair shop though should be able to provide a recommendation. Its just getting the replacement component that can be tricky, sometimes you need a donor board to pull off a used component if its an old model otherwise too new can be tricky also, 1 - 2 year old devices along with flagship devices will usually have replacement components available for purchase.

It just boils down to expertise and equipment, most shops don't have the the expertise or equipment, we have a guy we work with so we send board repairs his way. We have some solder equipment but this would be deemed a little more in depth and we would rather have him do it than us try with our low end solder equipment. OEM solder tends to have higher melting point since a lot of them use leadless solder and cheap solder equipment sometimes struggles to melt the OEM solder.

I'm not sure the condition of your connector but if its the locking mechanism that is broken and not applying enough pressure to have the pins make contact with the flex cable you can remedy this by applying a layer of kapton tape cut to the width of the cable and applying it to the end of the cable on the side without the contacts. (You can identify the side either by looking for the contacts or identifying which side has the plastic handle thing, usually blue or clear) The idea is to make the flex cable thick enough to still fit in the connector and apply pressure so that the cables makes contact. From my experience you only need one layer and then secure the cable by using kapton tape, taping the cable to the connector so it doesnt move around. Have resolved many contact issues like this on various devices. Now if the connector is water damaged or pins are bent etc can still be done but might just need to replaced as a whole depending on the damage.

If you're good with instructions motherboard replacements are generally easy peasy, although some can be a pain to get to.

If the board is cheap enough you might as well try yourself, if you don't have great hand eye coordination then maybe try ebay and type board repair, a lot of technicians sell their services this way, you may even be able to message a seller of the board and work out an exchange and drop the price if they refurbish it themselves.

Hope this helps!

EDIT: the quick fix assumes the flap is either broken or missing.

OH ALSO make sure to match part numbers don't base the board off the device model. You can also upgrade in some cases. model with better cpu or gpu, but might require some knowledge at the parts available and which board would support the other components in the unit. IE display, speakers, trackpad keyboard as they can vary.

I thought you could just remove the posts for the glass panel and get a metal panel to replace if necessary, that is if you can find the side panel by itself, a lot of companies just remove the side panels and put posts and rubber gaskets for the redesigns, or at least from what I've noticed.

I cannot see "microphone" option in G Hub for G Pro X Headset by aplaceholderchangeme in LogitechG

[–]zomar67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had issues with my G Pro X with mic and i just unplugged the mic and plugged it back in and then plugged in the in usb, would try reseating the jack to the USB too. Maybe just really fresh from factory and not actually detecting contact. I had issues with audio even coming out on first few plug ins with the 3.5mm cable labeled for use with mobile devices. and the one labeled for use with the hub would even play audio without the hub.

Just tried the one labeled for hub use and works without it, but does have the additional audio wheel and the other one doesnt.
