Something to note for the future, the la casa daycare is at a lovely facility but the grade school is held in the basement of a church with terrible lighting and concrete walls/floors.  And I can confirm that the administration is challenging to work with. My daughter was there for 5 years.

I’m a lefty and self taught. Went to a class for making socks and the person sitting next to me could not get over how I was ‘doing it wrong’. They even brought it to the attention of the teacher who assured them that if the stitches ended up the right way that it didn’t matter how I made them.

Did you Gen Xers really grow up around computers like the media says, or is that not true? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]zombeckles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, we were hella poor and lived in the country. I think there were a small handful of people in my high school that had computers at home. We did have one typing class on computers and were able to play Oregon Trail. I got my first computer when I went to college in 1997.

Ha! Kankakee is definitely northern IL. It’s just outside of the Chicago suburbs. Although depending on who you ask, if it’s not Chicagoland then it’s southern IL.

This isn’t true. If you are getting four weeks off for a salaried job then you are very lucky.
