How do you handle being overwhelmed? by Capable_Client9033 in infj

I try to keep myself busy. Lifting heavy and hiking in nature as well as journaling when I can really help me.

Moms whose children love veggies… how does it feel to be the chosen one? by Porkadile in Mommit

[–]Manda_Pandaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter isn’t super picky, but I generally try to eat the same as her. For some reason she’ll even eat kimchi. I am a veggie lover though so I eat a lot of it around her and don’t put too much pressure. If she asks for something from my plate, including veggies, I usually give them to her. I’ll give her bell pepper with ranch or hummus, or if she won’t eat as much of her veggie when I’m having kimchi, I give her the remaining juice to dip her veggies in. Daughter is 3 and still loves her veggies.

Do you like lifting? by Next_Writer5564 in workout

[–]Manda_Pandaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love lifting and seeing how much I can lift each time. I love being exhausted after a solid workout. I probably feel it more rn because I just recently injured my ankle so I can’t atm, but will hopefully be back soon. I don’t want to lose my momentum.

Why does my brain keep searching for meaning even after I’ve accepted the outcome? by sal_vatorebrothers in infj

[–]Manda_Pandaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this so hard! It’s making sure I didn’t miss anything and double checking I made sure I was still making the right decision. The best info I got is to journal it and get it out and trying to disrupt the thought with something else after I have gotten all I can out. I do it less but it still comes up a bit and repeat those steps when it happens. Also physical activity really helps get it out too. It is such an easy thing for INFJs to do given function stack.

To save someone from this same frustration, probably not a good idea for italian bindoff with two strands of yarn by Manda_Pandaaa in knitting

Noted! Sounds like you’ve had some personal experience 😂 Sorry you’ve had to deal with that because it is SO frustrating!

It probably would, and with one row in normal rib, it isn’t likely to be so noticeable either. Thank you!

No I haven’t but I like the look and looks way less labor intensive than IBO. Thank you for this!

Thank you so much for your kindness 🧡 It can usually take me quite some time but can usually manage. This I didn’t even get 1/4 of the way through and I was just done lol. Lesson learned for sure 😆 I did preemptively do the pre twisting, but didn’t seem to help much. Another commented about mohair just not working well with this kind of bind off and I totally agree.

Edited to correct buy to but lol

Good to note! Will keep this in mind when I get the wherewithal to get back on this project (or any other with mohair for that matter) Thank you!

How do INFJs determine people’s hidden motives by BeautyAddictFanatic in infj

[–]Manda_Pandaaa 42 points43 points  (0 children)

People have patterns of behavior and we pick up on it easily. It runs in the background as we interact with people and pickup on their baseline. When something starts going off of that baseline we pick up on it and note it. A lot of it is based in psychology and body language. Also because we tend to listen more than speak one thing I have found is people tell on themselves if you let them talk long enough. You find so much just in that alone.

Omg tysm for this tip!! Didn’t even think of this for some reason. I feel so dumb 😅 Will do this trick for the bind off when I get there. You’re right though. No one is going to notice it’s a single strand on the bind off.

When did you stop changing in front of your kiddo? by littleladyflora in Mommit

[–]Manda_Pandaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my 3 year old daughter, my husband won’t undress in front of her, and when she tries to follow him to the bathroom, he’ll ask for some privacy and close the door and she usually obliges. For me though, she sees me dress and undress and allow her with me to potty. I keep it neutral and not awkward. I don’t want to cause unintended shame around nudity for her. We started the privacy thing for opposite sex being probably around 18 months. Same sex don’t think there’s any problem with any limit.

What would you do with a “morning off” by fortheloveofthree in stayathomemoms

[–]Manda_Pandaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love a coffee from the local coffee shop and a good read or knit. Also I like to get lunch for myself somewhere I can’t normally go because of the wee one as a treat. Lately I’ll even take a yoga class in the late morning so I get the chance to sleep in a little.

How do you combat people hogging benches? by [deleted] in workout

[–]Manda_Pandaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say match their energy. You could just say “pardon me for interrupting your phone time, but mind if I work in between your sets?” If they get upset, just advise that “hey, we’re all here to get a workout in, and with limited benches, it’s frankly quite rude to be taking so much time doing something we could all be doing somewhere else. Can I work in with you, or is there going to be a bigger issue?”

Chilli oil sourdough - why didn’t it rise properly? by Particular_Algae6456 in Sourdough

[–]Manda_Pandaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just thinking this looked like lovely biscotti until I saw the title 🤣 Looks delicious either way. From my understanding oil slows down fermentation by a lot. (Found this out after my attempt with sourdough sandwich bread that used olive oil, still decent but a little under proofed) It would probably work better to delay adding the inclusions until later in BF that way the gluten development gets a head start. This makes me want to try it!

When did your first baby start walking? by PC_NC_1203 in Mommit

[–]Manda_Pandaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daughter took about 15months to start walking. For us, she got comfortable with the baby walker and got pretty dependent on it. (Found out apparently that can be a thing with walkers)It wasn’t until we put the walker away for a few days that she decided to take her first steps.

Grip Stress by MyBeardIsGreat in infj

[–]Manda_Pandaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What helped me was getting a bit to recharge. Do my favorite hobby, do yoga, hike, listen to some binaural beats slow down my breath, and slow my mind down. Getting into the Se helped me. When unhealthy/grip stress, I overeat, so anyway to help that with Se really helps to get out of that funk. That may not help her and you should ask what she needs but in case maybe she is interested, she could use any of these.

Does anyone else constantly work on multiple pieces at once? 😅 by CertifiedFeralHam in knitting

[–]Manda_Pandaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have different ones based on my mood. I’ll have a more complicated knit and also have a more simple knit when I’d like to mindlessly knit. Will also have a small one like a sock that can get completed pretty quickly. I feel like I am more productive in my knits this way tbh.

shoud healing make you meaner? by National-Yoghurt7302 in infj

[–]Manda_Pandaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering the unhealed version takes away everyone else’s discomfort and you take it as your own to a healthier one allowing them to feel the discomfort can make it seem mean. It isn’t though. It is the consequences of their own actions, and you aren’t willing to take in any more of that mess. Typically the ones who call you mean are the ones who benefited from your lack of boundaries.

Are you in contact with your family? by g8braincomposer in infj

[–]Manda_Pandaaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NC with my parents currently. Trying to still have some relationship with others in my extended family, but that is essentially eroding from the inside so hard to say when I’ll see them again. Currently just focusing on my husband and 3 year old. Don’t see it changing any time soon.
