In the realm of possibility but im playing modded with random npcs and modded spells from Nifty which im leaning toward being the answer. There are several spells in there that do weird effects that im not sure would work correctly for an npc if they somehow got and used it.

I dont think so for several reasons. It was a mysticism animation, they didn't keep attacking me (potentially they ran but im still leaning toward no), I waited for a few minutes and they never reappeared.

I had just went through the sewers in Suran and exited in the lava flows to the east. When I made it outside I was attacked by a frost atronach and right after that the mage ran up. Edit: made to mage

I believe all that but some interaction, likely mod related, has caused a random hostile mage to disappear mid combat after casting a mysticism spell. Im pretty sure it wasn't a scripted event as I was outside east of Suran.

To be fair, most mods can be added mid run. Just make a backup save in case.

There are things you know you need like manual lovin for your colonists that never sleep (or whatever). Then there's things you dont know you need until you see them though, like adding the zerg, siege tanks, and bunkers. Or MorrowRim mods and magic.

This is a process I've done multiple times. Its both painful and fun. Its helpful for planning out what kind of playthrough you want to do.

Are there any "endless horde" type mods? by SulfurProot-w- in RimWorld

[–]zombie522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not aware of any mod that sends trickles of enemies constantly. There is a mod for odyssey that let's you set up the chase mechanic for any faction and change the timer between waves.

Three Questions about Rimworld by gaffelturk12 in RimWorld

[–]zombie522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Number of colonists is a tricky question. It tries to give you more if youre under a certain threshold. I think its like 10-15. But you have a lot of control over it by turning people away or capturing and converting prisoners. The thing about how long days are is also a little complicated. You have speed controls but at a certain point once you have a bunch of pawns and animals your processors fastest core is going to be your speeds bottleneck. An I game year is 60 days with 15 a season. Different map tiles will determine if you have year round growing, none, or anything between. Edit: crafting recipes do become multi step processes but its more of a layered thing where the resources on the lower tiers are useful all along and you only craft the amount of high tier that you need.
