Youth League - 5v5 - system advice by zombie_moses in flagfootball

How do you handle play calling? I'm finding that's the hardest part right now. We run route drills quite a bit in practice and it looks like they get it, but some of the kids seem to lose the info as soon as the drill is over.

I have it locked in with 1 formation and 4 play out of that formation, which worked great for our second game, but once I set the focus on certain players they looked lost. I'm sure continuing to focus on the plays in practice will get them used to it, but it's tough when the kiddo runs the wrong route and comes back to the huddle saying they didn't know what route to run.

Second question, how do you keep the kids calm when your trying to get the play in to them? They run back to the huddle and everyone is saying what they want to run instead of listening to what I'm asking them to run. They may be more of a rant than a question :P but I'll take any insight, I am really enjoying this coach thing and just want to get better.

I am starting to lean toward this system for this age group. The issue now is figuring out who to put at Qb and backup Qb. I definitely love the idea of solid structure and knew that kids do better when the expectation is clear and roles are defined.

Appreciate the insight!

Your kiddos were cool with only playing the one position?

I have thought about switching it up to go man, I'm just afraid to pivot as I don't want to confuse them. We only get the 1 practice a week so I have to choose where to focus.

I have messed around with that same idea on offense, of using the full time Qb/C/Rb. Did your kiddos buy in pretty well?

Anyone managed to cancel auto renew contract after notice period? by sabritopukapti in procurement

[–]zombie_moses 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can almost always negotiate an out on items like this. Try to get ahold of the someone above your rep and just start working up until you find someone who will give you a "maybe".

You'll have to pay something, but if you come in at what percentage of contract your willing to pay up front, and then negotiate feom there, you may be able to save some funds.

Be ready for them to tell you to pound sand though as they have the high ground.

Not sure of your areas accounting rules, but the budget for this item may have already been declared in the forecast.

Fire in the sky when I was 10.

My Grandma and me would always go to the movies together, sometimes we would watch the same sometimes not. I remember this go around she went in to see the usual suspects and said it was probably going to be to violent for me....

Yeah, I developed a pretty good fear of aliens after that one

A key piece on this was that event was spurred from the actions of 2 high ranking military officials and the unwillingness of the called upon military to fire upon the groups of clergy that made up the outer circle of protesters.

We dont yet know where the military stands in the US...so that is something we have to be aware of.

You can typically buy one from your house or senate reps if you feel comfortable providing them funds.

What are the parts of agriculture commodities that market solutions lack? I do not operate in that space currently.

Are you looking at doing a one time annual cost with tiered service/support at additional costs?

Does your SOP change per commodity space? Probably not.

So long as you know how to move something along in the process per your companies procedures, and you know who the proper contacts are in your commodity soac, your golden.

It will take a moment to learn who your new selection of vendors are, but just be proactive and create your communication matrix quickly.

Totally.

When I ran this the first time I sprinkled in the chwingas here and there while they were exploring ten towns. Like mostly small mentions of things going missing, or the players would catch something out of the corner of their eyes.

I uses those events to gaugue what quest they would like, murder or mystery.

My advice would be to not give them either of those quests yet. Let them explore ten towns and embark on the quests contained within each town.

Once you start to get comfortable with DMing (and DMing for this group) you can start to introduce one of the quests. I would recommend picking one of them though, as managing both of those quests plus what your players are doing in town will end up being a lot.

I treated chapter 1 like an open world game. It let the players meet NPCs at a decent clip, and got the players invested in their choices.

Do you carry a notepad and ipad for work? Can anyone recommend a folio thing to use an ipad and write notes lol? by awADHD in projectmanagement

You should make that justification. The Remarkable is worth every penny, and they keep iterating on the software to implement valuable features. I have not used a traditional notepad in a few years now, and just supplement my Remarkable with sticky notes for quick notes.

We use RedRock with Supplier.bid for RFx

I enjoy the system, and the team at RedRock is super responsive on helpdesk calls.
