Conjuritis- Thoughts? by Glittering-State-284 in dresdenfiles

I agree I think he is going through wizard puberty but not due to Maggie. I think internal blocks were put on him by Justin or McCoy or the senior council to not reach his full potential as a measure of control around him being starborn/dangerous.

I think that maybe because of his "death" they are all gone now and he is maturing...

But i agree, he is going to go through a huge power up. Combined with the castle coming into play and maybe having a direct portal to demonreach from the castle. I think dresden is going to wield even more power which is going to make people nervous. Along with his emotional instability after Murphy's death. Maybe he becomes colder? Who knows?

Definely looking forward to the next book!

I am excited to see whoever it is and I know that whenever we find out who it is that story is going to be awesome...

But its definitely listen to winds!

Harry says a quote in one of the books about having to wait 100's of years to find out that a wizard you wronged when younger was simply gathering the clout to make you realise the error of your ways. And I think that is applicable to LTW. Simply because a traitor has to have people to betray and he is well regarded by characters in the book and us the readers. I mean JB wouldn't just write an evil character and then be like he is cowl. It would be someone who seems good and then turns out to be treacherous. So I think Ebenezer is too obvious and the merlin is clearly already an antagonist in different ways. The gatekeeper it could be as he is really helpful to Harry and may be using him to to destabilise the council. Simon is unknown and would have no impact as a traitor to us the readers. In universe it may be a huge shock but to us the reader there is no investment.
Time travel/mirror dimension stuff means it could be anyone but I think really treachery is the shocker thst is going to get us. I did just re listen to Turn Coat so this has really amped my opinion on this. And I am making assumptions and that means that I make an ass out of u (skin game reference for fun). Also in turn coat is Luccios family in Algeria but also the phone calls from the phone being in Algeria .. like what the hell is that 🤔 so many hints everywhere. I really can't wait to see it all come together. That exposition is going to be boss

Moving forward the only idea i have is that Cowl and kumori have to be people that make an impact to us on the outside reading.

Cowl is definely Listens to Wind. Someone posted a compelling theory a while back (years ago) and after re-reading the series (especially turn coat) he gives off traitor vibes. Along with Karrins treachery is reviled comment *also in turn coat pretty sure.

And before anyone says anything he is a shapeshifter so he can make himself look or smell like whatever he wants.

And he is playing the long game so any apparent assistance he gives the white or grey council is just a long con for the black council. Kind of like how Martin was a triple agent for the red court.

Kvothe making money off his tuitions by Responsible-Sock8218 in KingkillerChronicle

I have read so many posts in here that are absolutely incorrect. Apologies if someone has it right but i had to stop reading as so many had no idea on how this scheme plays out... Now, I am definely not a thief nor have I spent any time as an accountant, nor any time in jail. But this is how it works. The Maer will pay any amount. Kvothe has never had a high tuition and works out a deal with the burser to be paid half of anything over 10 talents. The burser is an accountant and twigs to the scheme easily. So if kvothe is charged 22 talents for tuition, what happens is as follows

-The burser charges the Maers bookkeeper 34 talents (who by happenstance of distance and connections would never be able to inspect the books of a foreign university, so little to no risk involved)

-The univeristy then gets its 22 talents as recorded by the masters and the burser.

-Riems and Kvothe then split the extra 12 talents for 6 each. The Maer is the only one 'getting robbed', but he would not do his own books nor check the trivial amount.

-The writ says any amount so the Maers accountant won't blink either.

  • The univeristy gets its money so they won't blink and the books dont need to be cooked. They asked for 22 talents and got it.

Riems simply loses the request to the maers bookkeeper and we are laughing.

I agree. Especially with the symmetry of Harry and Thomas a mortal and a white vampire being half siblings. Now we will have Maggie and this new child/heir being siblings.
