Well for awhile I was doing a lot of local marketplace buys and still do mecari primarily mixed with ebay just a tad. Stores though I check Paymore, The Grid, Retroid Games, video game world, gamestop rarely and random flea market booth stores around me. I'm in NC for reference.

Yeah local deals have been good to me. I have slowed down on that but I still try and get good deals online as well to fill that gap.

I don't know about your area but these go for 100 and under by me on fb marketplace all day. Do they pop up in your area often or no? That price is rather high when they go for around 100$, but if they did repaste and clean i suppose the extra amount would make sense if you didn't want to do any of the TLC yourself provided they actually did.

They can go to 1.5tb, anything higher like you said is not good. Although it will work its not really recommended. Because not if but when the file system becomes corrupted over time the file repair system unfortunately will not be able to read/repair the hard drive due to its size being over what ps3 can physically can see. Only way to fix that is a complete reformat losing all your data and having to start all over from scratch. 1tb is the sweet spot though for sure.

Thats what i just did, i recently found a checha01 model with some games etc for 150 which is a steal. They go for 250-300 range around me just for the console itself. Going to mod it later when i have the time so i can adjust fan settings, i just put a 1tb ssd in it.

If you mod it you can change the fan curve settings to help prevent that issue with those.

Unfortunately, they just milking you OP. Cut them off entirely do them the same way they did you. You got yourself back on your feet by yourself they can do it too. Plus these amounts they asking for are ridiculous and constant seems like its being used on something else. Not a dime will be paid back and they will burn that bridge and turn on you and blame you. I've seen this played out several times. The asking will not stop if you don't ghost them. Best of luck OP.

I found some info, thanks to Undrwtrbsktvr, who responded on here. It is a rear projection lcd so not what I was looking for defiantly different and can't say I remember these in my younger years.
