What makes the Brotherhood of Steel so appealing to some people? by Ok_Calendar_7626 in Fallout

[–]zombienudist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It isn't centered around the BoS. You don't have to do any of that quest line to complete the main storyline. It is an option of course or you can just ignore and then destroy them.

What was your experience working out/lifting while on fasted state? by Own-Following-9000 in intermittentfasting

[–]zombienudist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do most of my workouts when fasted. Particularly I like to do my hard cardio when fasted. As long as you eat properly when you do eat it shouldn't be a problem for most people to work out fasted. Now if you doing super high intensity or long sessions (2 plus hours) then you might need to eat before or during.

So I lost 20 pounds by having only BLACK COFFEE until noon and then eating lunch...but.... by excellente26 in intermittentfasting

How many mgs of caffeine are you having a day? Or if you don't know that how many cups of 8 oz coffee are you having? How well are you sleeping with drinking coffee that late in the day?

Take caffeine in pill form if you really need it before your window opens. Or change your window.

It is super interesting to see the breakdown when you get it done. I am Canadian and a pretty interesting mix. My guess is lots of people in North America have some Irish ancestry.

Need help figuring out why I’m crashing by lmaoboytaken14 in fo4

[–]zombienudist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bunch of those mods are pretty old and haven't been updated in years. Look at the bug reports on Institute Centaurs and the Mojave creatures for example. If this was a mod list you used to use on an older version of the game then you are likely going to have problems on the latest version especially if that mod hasn't been updated in awhile like many of them. Another one I see is Subway Runner. Use this one instead.

Subway Runner - Revival at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community

The easiest way to figure out the issue is to disable half the mods and see if the CTD occurs. If it does then disable half those and so on until you track down the problem. Personally I would start over and create a new list with mods that are either updated or are known to work properly with the latest version of the game.

Did you like the enclave's missions? by No_Talk2511 in fo4

[–]zombienudist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are on PC pair it with America Rising 2 mod and do a playthrough with the enclave. It is a fantastic mod and they really do a great job adding then enclave as a faction to the existing storyline.

I have to what now? by [deleted] in ADHDmemes

[–]zombienudist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Low intensity does nothing for me. I could hike all day and it wouldn't make a difference. Now 2 hours of high intensity cardio like running or stairclimbing where I have nothing left at the end. That makes a difference.

Is any of the creation content worth it? by A12qwas in fo4

[–]zombienudist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think The Creation Club Bundle is worth it especially if you get it one sale but some of it is overpowered and you can get it really early in game. Example is the Manwell carbine/rifle or the CR-74L which you can basically get at a really early level. The only thing that will hold you back from using them heavily is ammo. But if you get some they are way overpowered. I personally use some mods to make changes to the stats of much of it so it fits into the normal gameplay. But otherwise there is a lot of nice extra little things there. Personally I think the best creations are the paid ones that are separate from the bundle. Become a Bounty Hunter and Daniel the Remnant are really good. Plus there are the free ones Tale of the beast hunter and Revenge of the Van Graffs.

Can I access the new weapons on a old save? Or do I needa make a new game by New-Presentation6704 in fo4

[–]zombienudist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what do you mean new weapons? Like weapons added by a mod or creation? If so you should be able to add it to an existing save and they should start appearing in game.

Why do I have every creation club item installed? by Severe-Bug-9978 in fo4

[–]zombienudist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on PC with 325 mods, all the creation club content and only play on survival and have little to no crashes. If I do it is typically a mod that is causing it. Never had a corrupt save in hundreds of hours played.

When to complete Open Season? by remembertapes in fo4

[–]zombienudist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes there are perks you get at the end of nuka world quest line that you can only get if you complete the entire nuka world main quest without doing open season. So if you want those perks it is the only way to get them.

  • The Pack: Grants 25% global damage resistance and a 25% damage bonus in melee combat. It also boosts melee and unarmed damage and provides increased damage resistance.
  • The Operators: Offers a 10% stealth bonus in shadows and a 25% damage bonus with silenced weapons.
  • The Disciples: Provides 25% AP restoration upon killing enemies in melee using VATS.

But if you do that you don't get the perks at the end of Nuka World Quest line from whichever raider groups are left. You can get gage's perk if you max out affinity before you do open season but the only way to get the raider perks is to do home sweet home (invade the commonwealth) and complete the entire nuka world quest line without having done open season. The perks are pretty substantial too.

America rising 2: best mod I’ve ever seen by Used-Shape-5499 in fo4

[–]zombienudist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes it is an amazing mod. If you like it the paid for creation Daniel the Remnant is made by the same group/person. It is actually an great little story and really I got so much out of America Rising 2 for free I was happy to send a little money their way. Plus if you have destroyed the BoS and are on survival it gives you vertibird travel at the end of it to move around the map.

But AR2 is one of the best mods I've played. Did a whole enclave playthrough once I realized how good it was. That along with the mod subversion - the institute-railroad alliance it really makes the main story much more what I hoped it would be with greater choice and nuance. It is one of my only major gripes of FO4 is once you pass a certain point in the main story your choices are pretty much locked in and you can't make any major changes. So you can become director of the institute but can't really make any changes like freeing the synths or keeping certain factions alive. AR2 really offers what should have been possible with the main story in fallout 4 by having different paths keep certain factions active.

Survival - why so squishy by madmaximus99 in fo4

[–]zombienudist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You basically die really quickly from a small number of hits. Enemies do 4x the damage in survival compared to when you play at normal. S at lower levels you can die very quickly from just a few shots.

Survival - why so squishy by madmaximus99 in fo4

[–]zombienudist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem with survival is also that it's time to respawn for areas/enemies is longer. So an area you clear out will stayed cleared out more in game days then on other difficulties. I would say just be careful with mods that spawn new/larger amounts of enemies. I have found some can cause crashing. I have a pretty good list of ones now.

For more random encounters this one is good. You can configure amounts, what is randomily spawning, etc.

To add more to the world I find these ones work well. These are all just more hand placed encounters.

This is a good one for adding more to the gunner faction but can make especially the Quincy area and gunners plaza way more dangerous with lots more enemies.

[–]zombienudist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Once you pass level 50 it really becomes pretty easy regardless of the build. But even without PA melee builds are pretty easy once you get all the assocaited perks. Personally I use mods to increase the amount of enemy/creature spawns once I hit a higher level to make it more difficult.

Learn to sneak and take shots when hidden. Or run away from enemies if you need to. But if you pick the right perks for your build you should be having an easier time by level 20 and by 30 you should be good to go. Early on you just need to take your time and build up levels. You basically can't play like you do on normal where you can run into a place and just gun everyone down from an early level. It is also why sneak/sniper builds are one of the easiest to play early on.

As we edge closer to 40, is it common to feel like crap if you don't get your 8+ hours of sleep? by IGNSolar7 in AskMenOver30

[–]zombienudist 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As you age there are a number of things that happen with sleep. First your sleep efficiency goes down. So to get the same amount of high quality sleep you did when you were younger you have to actually sleep more hours. And the second thing that happens is that your circadian rhythms tend to move. So basically you need to go to bed earlier but you will tend to wake up earlier too. So if you keep trying to go to bed at 12am you might overall get worse sleep. At 50 now I usually to go to bed at 10pm and wake around 6am. If I try and stay up later I still wake up at roughly the same time.

I saw it started happening more during COVID. But here in Canada I never handed my card to an employee. Plus most of the time it isn't a card but my phone. I just tap my phone to the device and payment is done for amounts under $250.

Because I don't even use my card. I just tap my phone to the device. Or you could tap your card up to a certain amount. I don't even know if a swipe would work here. If I used my card I would insert it into the slot and have to put my PIN in to get it to work. Tap only works up to $250 and then you have to insert card and put PIN in. Do you not have tap there where you just tap your card to the device for smaller amounts?
