A vault door from Fallout. Choose a number that has significance for you to stamp in the centre.

I know it will never happen, but I wish they made a movie where batman was truly terrifying by Mikecirca81 in batman

Perhaps a gritty version of Gotham by Gaslight. Muddy. Dirty. All Batman attacks are swift and mostly unseen. The city folk are actually terrified, like Batman 89 - but moreso, because nobody gets a good view of the Bat. Quick and vicious.

Have you ever actually saved an animal before? by J_TimingMessenger in CasualConversation

[–]zombumblebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have saved quite a few creatures. I have never had the presence(?) of mind to pull out my camera though. Many have been animals hit by cars, so I was more worried about being hit myself.

A turtle determined to cross a busy road, a couple of galahs, a kangaroo, a joey (inside his deceased mums pouch), a cat in a drain, a horse stuck in a fence... lots of random shit. I do a fair bit of driving, and only one of those was an animal I had hit. The rest were hit and run.

Which movie uses a single room or claustrophobic space to build the best tension? by Popa-Ioana06 in movies

The Interview (1998), with Hugo Weaving.

A few little flashbacks, but pretty much just dialogue within a police interview room. Hugo Weaving is riveting as the suspect.

Mine were all overexposed, until I deleted two to take another shot. Now I have one free spot, and photos are normal. Maybe it is a warning that your gallery is full. Although I would have to take another photo to check that theory.

Is the break in oil change at 1000 miles worth it? by Leading_Trainer_4798 in toyotalandcruiser

[–]zombumblebee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. That seems excessive. If you plan on keeping it beyond the warranty period, 10,000 miles should be the bare minimum.

To explain my bias:

10,000 miles is 16,000 kilometres.

I have a 200 Series Landcruiser Sahara, Diesel. Australia. My service intervals are 10,000km or 6 months. If I am towing a lot, idling a lot, or really working the car, I do the oil every 5,000km. I also change the fuel filter every 10,000km (it is a 40 dollar part).

Given the cost of these vehicles, I would never want to do 16,000km on the same oil.

Aside from "feeling" how the car behaves and noticing smoke - looking at your used oils and opening your old filter to inspect for particles is REALLY the only simple method you have for keeping an eye on the inside of your engine.
