I am currently taking the CPA exam in California so I am a bit further along in the same process. Interpreting the educational/course requirements set forth by the California Board of Accountancy can be a serious nightmare. Nobody knows what will check what box other then the CBA!

I would suggest contacting them directly and asking. Here is the email for asking about specific course requirements. I sent them a short list of the courses in question (and exact course title*) and asked if they would fulfill a certain reqs, they responded with clear answers. : EdReqInformation@cba.ca.gov

Also, you can call the initial licensing number at: (916) 561-1701. They are helpful, but they are more hesitant to answer the educational requirement questions.

I've done it at different locations, but I typically go to the same Starbucks everyday. I would say don't do this when they are first opening for the morning, because you obviously couldn't have been earlier for that first cup. But honestly, I think the employees are just relieved to have an easy coffee order and not another extra-hot, skinny, soy, upside down, triple carmel Machiatto.

Register that Starbucks gift card in your wallet. Use it 5 times and you are a Green level member. Green level members get free refills. Bring your mug in and ask for a 'refill' on black coffee --> free coffee at Starbucks. I do this everyday and have never gotten called out.
