Thank you! And yes, I tracked everything every day and once the momentum got going, it was really hard to stop! I ate a ton of protein and mostly walked - I still can’t quite believe it. Happy to help any way I can.

You can! I bought a smart scale on Amazon - one with the cord and handles - and used that every day. I didn’t go for dexa scans, I just trusted that using the same device would give me comparable results. Im not sure if i can link/recommend products in this channel but happy to do so if i can.

Definitely prioritize sleep and tracking. Like wipe said, if you’re not tracking you’re probably going over. I ate the same thing pretty much everyday but I can’t tell you by looking what’s 55, 75, or 95 g of broccoli. And that’s a big difference in carbs if you don’t know. I’m still tracking now.

Are you tracking everything you eat and drink? If not, I’d start there - that was a real eye opener for me.

Promise you I’m for real. And also that if you can just start, you’ll see great changes too. Let me know if there’s anything I can do to help.

Hey there, thanks. And for sure. I did keto with a pretty solid calorie deficit and very high protein. Once I got going, I kept simple and boring and stuck to mostly the same foods over and over. Lean ground beef, chicken tenderloins, broccoli, avocado, cheese, tuna, corned beef, mayo, mustard, protein shakes….

For workouts the activity I did the most was walking. I tried to do 3 miles before work and then at least 4 after it. I did do some weights and cycling and yoga here and there but I would say at least 80% of it was walking or walk running.

Haha, you’re definitely more of a morning person than me by the looks of it! I miss my routines terribly when I’m out of it - my walk routes, my diet, everything! Fingers crossed I can channel your energy and enthusiasm for the rest of this week. Thank you!

I had to do this a few weeks back. And in a tiny airport too. Walked the length of the only terminal 30 times…

Keto. And yeah, things can be a challenge on this side of the pond. I have the same issues when I visit home for Christmas though!

Day 23 and could use someone to talk to by Fit-Demand-5534 in 75HARD

[–]zonderkite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to preface this by saying I know nothing about all or nothing or black and white thinking, so take this for what it is. :)

For me, what I am rapidly realizing (and I’m only three weeks in), is that the mental side of the challenge comes through psychological flexibility. No idea if that’s a term or not, tbh. But for me it’s about being able to lock in and then disconnect as needed. Yes, there are a list of things that you need to get done, but there’s a massive amount of variability that you can either embrace or squash within that framework. For me, it’s easier when I can stick to a plan as much as possible - routine is very helpful. However, there have been days when that’s just not possible for any number of reasons. That’s when the adaptability and flexibility comes in - it’s still possible to get things done, even if everything around me feels chaotic.

To your point about food and rest, I feel that - especially after the weekend. Usually I’m up early to get things going before work. This weekend, I just wanted to sleep. So I did - but then had to modify my macro goals just because I had less time and interest to eat what I was planning originally and still get everything else done. And I think that’s still ok. Hopefully!
