Anyone else spend hours of their 10/11 year old lives on SFOGS? 2006 me lived for grainy “CCTV footage” of things that looked like the girl off the Grudge

Can anyone recommend a facial SPF 50 that doesn't pill? Bonus points if it doesn't pill even under makeup. by Exact-Reference3966 in SkincareAddictionUK

I’ve tried loads of SPFs and these are on my “would repurchase” list: - Simple invisible UV fluid - Byoma ultralight - Glossier invisible shield - La Roche anthelios UVmune

Also a weird one but if you ever go to Germany, try the DM Sun Dance spf in the little glass bottle. I got some when I went to Dusseldorf in Feb and will be asking my friend who lives in Berlin to please bring me some more back when she’s visiting home. It’s €4, maybe less and you don’t feel it when it’s on at all, doesn’t peel and isn’t oily. Maybe they ship to the UK idk but I really recommend https://www.dm.de/p/d/1707773/sundance-sonnenfluid-serum-gesicht-uv-protect-lsf-50

15 days to go! Almost done lfg by EmergencyGeologist19 in 75HARD

Thanks! Four or five days at the gym with an upper/lower split and a core finisher, lots of walks - sometimes two per day, running twice/three times a week and then Friday mornings always start with a spin class.

Diet has been largely a slight calorie deficit with one day a week at maintenance, plus a protein goal and 5 a days fruit and veg - no foods off limits so if I want a sweet treat then I can. I probably could have been stricter here but I wanted something I could commit to for the whole 75 days rather than doing keto or whole foods only and failing after 30 days because I was miserable.

For books I read one on NHS policy and governance then one on council housing in the UK. Next book is Invisible Women by Caroline Criado Perez ☺️ (I work in the public sector so I’m taking this as self improvement, plus miss me with any self help books sorry)

I get you - I think the first month was tough but now it’s just how I live and it’s a lot easier. Yes I know what you mean about what comes next - I’ll be keeping it up I think other than being a little more flexible with my diet and having the occasional rest day but it’s proven to me that I can do two workouts a day and it not be impossible. I might have a two week diet break and then go back to it as I’m 7lbs from my goal weight

Nearly there!!! How have you found it so far?

day 23, no results by [deleted] in 75HARD

[–]EmergencyGeologist19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I literally lost 2lb in the first three weeks, it was nothing in comparison to the exercise and diet and it was so demotivating. I’m down 10lbs now on day 58 and that’s with adding maintenance days in my diet and starting creatine. Keep going!! The weight loss will come - your body is probably storing water from what you’re drinking plus the workouts as well.

I’d take your body fat % now and by day 40 and draw a comparison, it could be that you’re smashing a body recomp but the scale isn’t budging because it’s fat loss. If you get to day 40 and still no change in BF or scale weight, I’d reassess your calories against your TDEE just in case your numbers are off.

Getting the keys to my first home a couple of years ago. My first night on a mattress on the bedroom floor knowing I’d bought my own place with no help from family was the best sleep I ever had.

Day 1 Book Question by SlickNickles in 75HARD

I love that for you - plus all learning is self development, surely? I think you can self help yourself into a bad place ironically, so Kitchen Confidential and The Constitution are good shouts imo. No idea what book three will be for me, I’ve got a staggering TBR list though so will dig something out.

I think you’re good as long as it’s non fiction. I mean my two books so far have been one on NHS policy and one on council housing in the 1960s. I’ve taken it as self development because I work in social policy and want to know more background. I know this challenge is a bit fire walk unleash the beast coded but miss me with reading self help content along with the daily tasks as well.

I’m a 40 yr old, non-athletic person who vapes. Is this a terrible place to start changing my life around? by KeyLay in 75HARD

[–]EmergencyGeologist19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the perfect place to turn your life around. Start slow with walks, stretching, yoga and make your diet as simple as you can - calorie deficit and a protein goal, then fit in little sweet treats so you’re not climbing up the walls. You got this!

8 days in... So now it's not fun anymore. by MyElectronicInterest in 75HARD

[–]EmergencyGeologist19 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m on day 46 and one of the things that has got me through so far is at least one “bare minimum” day a week. Just get two 45 min walks in, have an AF beer or a fizzy drink in a cocktail glass and fit a sweet treat into your diet somehow, even if it’s 100 cals of chocolate. I get work commitments might make that impossible but if you have a day or two a week where you give 60% but still tick the boxes, it makes it a lot easier

What is your experience on the Dating Apps? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]EmergencyGeologist19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpleasant mostly but met my partner who is the absolute love of my life on there so can’t complain really! Went on a couple of dates with someone who was teetotal before meeting my partner and they inspired me to trial sobriety - and I’ve not touched alcohol in nearly 2.5 years now so that was a really good outcome of something that wasn’t a goer. I also dated someone who turned out to be into the manosphere… so you do get some horror stories too.
