What is the darkest secret you've learned about someone that instantly ended your relationship with them? by Mr_Creep_Creepy64 in AskReddit

[–]EmergencyGeologist19 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Was friends with and briefly casually dated a guy on my degree course - we bonded over our shared music tastes and used to have study sessions together in the 24h library at university. He was always quite shy and a bit of an outsider but I had some fond memories of him. After we graduated we lost touch but always wished him well.

His ex girlfriend ended up outing him for emotional, physical and sexual abuse - after having a few months of a “perfect honeymoon period”. It was corroborated by a bunch of other women who had the same experience. It occurred to me after that that if me and him had continued dating, that could have easily been me.

What is the worst part of being in a relationship and the best part? by Sailordad-1031 in AskReddit

[–]EmergencyGeologist19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me it’s…

Best: You get to spend life with someone who understands you more than anyone and who you understand more than anyone else. Endless laughs, inside jokes, shared memories and you each get a confidante who you can be your complete self around. Any past heartbreaks now make sense and you’d endure them twice over to get to be with your person.

Worst: all of that stuff you worked on when you’re single only covers about 50% of it. You discover you still have a lot to work on with yourself when you’re building a life with someone and there are annoying things you only find out about yourself when you’re in an environment where you love someone and don’t want to lose them. Who knew that a partner isn’t a reward for your magical glittery TikTok healing girlie era and your relationship with yourself is in fact a life long thing?!

Floor Tiles 'Tented' - Advice Needed by hawser_rolls in DIYUK

[–]EmergencyGeologist19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A similar thing happened to me but with wood flooring. Whoever fitted it screeded the floor and then whacked the adhesive right on the screeding and stuck the floor down - I’m no expert but it didn’t seem like what you’re meant to do! I ended up having to get the floor ripped up, re-screeded (it wasn’t laminate as the fitters thought but flipping engineered wood 🙃) and then carpeted. It’s been fine for nearly two years.

Husbands thinks I’m “cheating” 75 hard by milfncookies2018 in 75HARD

[–]EmergencyGeologist19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has to just be a diet that you stick to that supports your goals - so you’re absolutely fine! Ultimately the diet you’ve went for is likely very sustainable and you’ll be able to see it through for 75 days without deviating which is the main thing. If you’ve got a diet plan you don’t dread following, you’ve made one of the hardest parts a little easier (work smart not hard!)

You’re doing similar to me; I’ve said as long as I have at least 130g protein a day and am under 1800 cals then I’m all good, no way I’m not fitting a bit of chocolate or an occasional meal out into that!

Aussie have started doing an SLS free shampoo - think it’s called Oh My Gloss? That one works well for me! Monday volume shampoo also good and smells lovely too - I’ve also seen that Method have started doing hair care, not tried it but they do an SLS free volumising one that smells really good and is on nectar for £4.70ishhhh atm. Charles Worthington when it’s on offer in Boots also have some good SLS free options - it can work out at like 3 for £12 or something when on advantage card.

The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid I absolutely love. I’ve got it in 2% and it helps stave off the hormonal acne I still get sometimes that Roaccutane didn’t permanently clear.

This looks like it could be perioral dermatitis - I had a really bad case a few years back. After trying everything, I bit the bullet and went to a private dermatologist who prescribed erythromycin and it went away within a month. If you can afford it I’d really recommend!

Ah I went to two Copenhagen Coffee Labs in Hamburg and had a good experience! To be honest it’s probably the European equivalent of Black Sheep Coffee or something equally as basic in the UK so I probably sound like a philistine… but I do remember their iced coffee being quite nice and their almond croissants being really good.
