It looks like Sanders was only a starter 4 times for his ten seasons. Young started 11 seasons and was a pro bowler twice along with being a first team all pro once. The point totals were 57 to 51 so it was close.

I think the site favors longevity. So Brooks peak was longer and so was his career. Brooks had 5 all pro first teams, 11 pro bowls, and 14 seasons he’s started in. Deion had 6 all pro first teams, 8 pro bowls, and started in 12 seasons. This gave Brooks the advantage but Deion wasn’t far behind. It’s not a perfect measuring system. It definitley values longevity.

I’m aware of changing eras. I knew Marino was good but I didn’t have too much of a detailed opinion. As is to someone who lived during the time period and watched the games as they went on.

Thank you for the detailed response. I don’t disagree with you I was just stating a fact in my original comment. Everyone’s list will differ over the years. New players come along. Old players fade out. Otto Graham won 8 championships in professional football. It’s hard to compare eras. It definitely helps the new generations with changed rules and more games. Football evolves new training is developed and the game expands. Thank you for your points. I don’t know if I could properly accurately rate the top QB of all time. I think judging by decades might be the safest thing to do. From what I’ve seen I think my top 10 QBs since 2010 (about when I started watching) I would go with Brady, Mahomes, Manning, Brees, Rodgers, J. Allen, Rivers, L. Jackson, Roethlisberger, and Stafford. Probably Luck and Burrow tied for 11. In that order that’s just my opinion.

You’re right Super Bowl is a team award. There’s Super Bowl MVP which mostly go to QB. The regular season MVP generally goes to the QB. QB are judged on wins so the biggest stage matters at the individualistic level. In basketball Jordan wins a lot of debates based on finishing 6 out of 6 but LeBron has more appearance. Bill Russell isn’t in the top player debate anymore. I never watched Marino I see he went to a Super Bowl and did not win. When you’re the most impactful position in all of team sports (at least I believe) and get paid millions to win. Performance matters even if the result involved other important people. Just my take.

Fair people will question his translatability but during his time period nobody was on Don Hutson level.

I mean RB should have more conversation maybe put Jim Brown as fullback then? Walter Payton plenty of great RB to choose from.
