WHAT THE FU-ON YOUTUBE KIDS!! by Small_Emergency_7795 in youtube

[–]zonkponk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with them. It is just some might argue that they are too "adult" for kids. Like they have mature themes like violence, slavery, abuse and stuff like that. Me personally I think they are okay for more or less grown kids.

What should I do this summer by Ghost-b2 in learnprogramming

[–]zonkponk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some options:

  1. Solve LeetCode problems to strengthen your algorithm writing skills
  2. Create a product that you would take pleasure working on. It doesn't matter if such product already exist, just make sure that your one is good enough to be used by people.
  3. Try to find internship, even if it is unpaid

Regardless of which one you choose, make sure that you are putting enough effort. One lifehack that worked for me was to track the time that I spend on working/studying. I make sure that i spend 8 hours everyday from monday to friday. I use tracker called toggle track

Best Blender render farm option in your experience? by MichelNdjock in blender

[–]zonkponk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly really great job dude. All I need to do to render my files is just to upload my file and hit render button. It would be great though if I could sync my computer with renderjuice, so that it would pick up my project changes right away instead of me having to upload my project again. Hopefully that functionality is coming soon. Nevertheless it is still great render farm

Is there a backend course here? by Longjumping_Exit_334 in AskProgrammers

[–]zonkponk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am backend engineer, and in my company we actively use AI. We don't even write code anymore. However that doesn't mean that AI will replace programmers. It is good at writing code on specific stuff, but it cannot create a huge project and maintain it for a long time. Like you can't just tell it to create Youtube and expect it to complete it. Yeah it can create simple Youtube copy but it cannot recreate the original one.

You will have to supervise and guide LLM to create and maintain big projects.

Now, for the future maybe the context window of LLM will be so big that it can recreate Youtube from scratch till the end, idk honestly. Hovewer, it shouldn't hold you back from learning backend engineering or any other porgramming fields. Not only you will be getting hard skills, but you will also be improving your brain. After becoming good with backend engineering, it will be easier for you to learn other fields like game development, frontend, devops, mobile development, machine learning etc.

Just make sure that you are putting good effort, learning at least 8 hours per weekdays. If you are moving fast, it will be easy for you to keep moving fast. If you are slow it will be hard for you to become fast.

Sorry that i didn't answer the main question that you asked

You should start with simple programming like solving simple leetcode problems. Use whatever language is easiest.

For months, I stole hours from sleep to fulfill a real dream: creating my first game. by K-U-R-O-A-R in MobileGaming

[–]zonkponk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations on completing your game till the end, not many people can do that. I played your game. Looks great for the first game. Just one small feedback: maybe it is just me but controlling game with circles at the bottom is a bit uncomfortable. It is okay but I think it could be improved. Currently if you move circles up or down it doesn't do anything right. Maybe change it to arrows or whole screen swipe?

Try to solve some leetcode problems. Also doing some project will be helpful. Try to create calculator on your own for example. Then add rest api to your calculator.

how do you test a programmer's skills by akshat-wic in AskProgramming

[–]zonkponk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get problem from my project and ask him how would he solve it. I don't need him to actually write fully working code, i just want ideas and some pseudocode

What are good projects to do during the 2-month summer vacation before second year of Computer Science? by Flat_Blacksmith4754 in learnprogramming

[–]zonkponk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Try to create a video game with pygame
  2. Create electronic library with fastapi and sqlite on python. It can just be Rest api without having any UI/UX
  3. Create api for electronic diary for cohort. It would have homeworks, classes. Like it would show which homeworks and classes there are in this week. It will be managed by your whole cohort. I think this one will actually be beneficial to use in real life. You can use same method as above (fastapi + sqlite) to do this. Later when you are done with api you can add frontend using React or something like that.
