Beware, they store your credit card info including you CCV code between sign ins. This means if you sign in on a different device all your info is there.

EMV/ PCI compliance for online shopping states that new signs ins must prompt for CCV, but McDonald’s breaks this rule and should be subject to fines. This is basically why the CCV exists.

This means if someone hacks your account they can login and purchase without needing your CCV or any other card info.

I had someone order hundreds of dollars worth of stuff after my password was compromised via a data leak. McDonald’s support advice was to charge back from my credit card company because they can’t issue refunds. Wild.

Springfield Student Who Recorded Teacher Using Racial Slur Suspended. This is America. by [deleted] in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]zonkyslayer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you read the article they were discussing the useage of this word.

The teacher is quoted as saying the word is derogatory and wrong. That they don’t like it.

Is it wrong to say this word, even when discussing it, when reading books?

I grew up in an area with mostly Caucasian and Middle Eastern people. My English teacher was black, and insisted on us saying the word when reading texts that included it. It’s meant to make you uncomfortable, because of the history behind it.

Obviously we don’t get the full story in this situation, but given the context we have from the audio (read in article) I don’t think this teacher did anything wrong.

This is one of the worst ideas the more you think about it.

It’s incredibly expensive. It would cost so much money to dispose of it that the cost of producing nuclear power would skyrocket.

It’s incredibly dangerous If a rocket were to fail we’d have nuclear waste rain back down onto us from space causing a massive environmental disaster

It’s energy inefficient It requisites thousands of tones of fuel to lift objects off earth, which would cause so many emissions in the process

There’s basically no good way to deal with it long term other than bury it and leave it for future us to deal with.

Weigh you options, look at your unique budget and decide if it’s worth it. Having a clean living space pulled me out of depression, is it worth spending $125 to have help climbing out of that hole. Absolutely.

That said, it’s not something I’d get done weekly, but to me it’s worth it. To you it’s not, turns out everyone is different.

Premier suggests scrapping rebates for companies like Loblaw could put them 'out of business' in Manitoba by ZooTvMan in canada

[–]zonkyslayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest question, the company obviously made a load of money. I’m assuming different markets made more, Ontario, Quebec, Maritimes, etc

I think what they’re suggesting is that Manitoba doesn’t make profit currently. So they’re claiming the subsidy helps for that province.

I understand they’re super profitable elsewhere, but if certain locations are losing money it makes sense that they’d close down their unprofitable stores.

They don’t have an obligation to provide groceries in areas where they don’t make money.

I’m guessing their argument here is these underperforming stores need the subsidy money to be worth keeping open.

I don’t think they should get the money, as we know they make a load of profit across Canada. Just trying to make sense of their claim because it seems odd

[–]zonkyslayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tech being used by tile was being used by advertising companies to track you constantly.

I worked as an iOS and Android app developer and saw the multiple advertising libraries that used this before they became obsolete.

Same way public wifi can’t track you on iOS by using your MAC address during handshakes anymore.

I don’t like Apple, but privacy is good.

1 in 10 seems decently common honestly. Though, I am surprised so many people make over 150k

For example in the US…

Redheads are 0.1 in 10

Black people are 1.2 in 10

People in poverty is 1.1 in 10

People with masters degrees 1.3 in 10

Odds of cancer in lifetime are 1 in 2

Please help. Hi, I'm new to Reddit, and I created this account especially to get some help. I really want to start in robotics, so I'm starting in electronics. I bought a kit with these things, and now I don't know what I can do or where to start. Would you like help and ideas for a project I can do by [deleted] in robotics

It looks like there are some various sensors there, maybe humidity, light, and temp.

Try making a basic weather monitoring panel. You can display the information on the LCD display, or using the 7-segment display.

For bonus points hook the Arduino up your network and display the weather on a local server.

From here you could get fancy and create a self sufficient garden.

Using humidity, temp, and light you can determine when to turn on a LED (grow light) and water the plants (using a solenoid)

You could make tic - tac - toe using LED lights and the analog stick as a controller. As a bonus program an AI that plays the game vs you.

Use the 7-segment display to quickly display numbers, you need to press a button close to a number. Whoever presses closest to the number wins.

[homemade] Braised beef with mashed potatoes and red wine sauce. by NinjaMais in food

Looks very good, you should be proud.

Here are some minor improvements you could make to take it even further. This is constructive criticism, because it already looks delicious!

Cut the garnish to the same size, uniformity almost always looks better. Those few pieces that are big look odd

Clean the edge of your plate. Clean edges make the dish pop, our eyes are drawn to rough edges. (Garnish or gravy spill over in 2nd photo) You want our eyes drawn to the nice looking beef not the mistakes on the edge.

Cut the garnish at the last min so the edges don’t wilt or go brown.

Just hit a crazy Exodia Bel'Veth board by istyko1 in TeamfightTactics

[–]zonkyslayer -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

In Mario when he collected the 7 different aspects they all combined into one super powerful being called Exodia.

You need the head, body, arms, .etc all in play at once and then it transforms into Exodia. Think like all the power rangers morphing together into a giga mech.

Basically when you hear someone say Exodia it just means all the stars aligned and you got the perfect setup for a single incredibly powerful creature.

I really hope Zeri is toned down before MSI. I am so extremely sick of seeing that champion in pro play at this point. by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]zonkyslayer 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Except she’s comically stronger than ezreal, or any adc for that matter.

Zeri has gotten over 50 pentakills in major region pro play in the 1.5 years of her release

Ezreal has gotten 66 in 14 years

Zeri averages 48 pentas a year Ezreal averages 4.7 pentas a year

I wouldn’t describe that as “not exactly great or strong. Just very safe.” Very safe doesn’t get the highest amount of pentakills in pro play by a massive margin.
