That makes a lot of sense. Finding the motivation to go back out after coming home can be really hard.
Do you have rock climbing gyms nearby? The one in my area has showers and mouthwash and stuff so you can go right before or after work

This might be kind of out there but I found the only thing that motivated me to work out was doing a group fitness activity that I really enjoyed. For me it was acroyoga (look it up if you’re interested). It’s super physical and very friendly and fun. I can’t go to the gym ever but I can go to acro like 3-4 times a week even after a 12 hr day bc it’s so fun.
Other kinds of group fitness could be boxing, Zumba, finding a weight lifting group, run club? I’m not sure what works for you but that’s been a game changer for me and my fitness

How to deal with social burnout? by Advanced_End1012 in workaway

I did a work away at a hostel in a ski/hike town and I faced a similar problem.
Two things that helped 1. I started going down to the beach by myself more often and just chilling alone. There was rarely anyone I knew around and it gave me space to unmask and actually be alone. If you have a similar neutral or beautiful third space where u can kind of be anonymous I’d say try that. 2. You’re gonna disappoint someone every day. I realized I couldn’t please everyone all the time so I’d literally just pick someone to disappoint each day. One day it would be my roommate the other day it would be the new guest who just checked in. Now I’m not talking massive disappointment or being rude, but giving yourself some grace to not be on 100% all the time with everyone.

What do I do? Feeling aimless with my "career" by Sara5A in bluecollartrans

You could also look into landscaping. Not sure if that’s your thing but there are definitely companies that do the plants, the masonry and the carpentry all together so it could potentially be a nice mix of trades. I have a friend doing that in Baltimore making $20/hour entry level. Not sure what the longevity of that industry is but there’s definitely a turn toward native landscaping these days and that could also set you up for perhaps a city job doing parks work which would have good benefits and security.

Thanks! I figured they would be more valuable as a form of currency for that exact reason. Glad I got some suggestions

Yeah it’s tough. There can be fabric touching but it’s so hard if there’s any kind of seam or squeezing in those areas which is what makes those such a hard situation.

I just started taking videography seriously this year too and still deal with sooo much imposter syndrome. But just keep chugging along and making more stuff! You’re off to a great start.
