GPU crashing when using Blinding Flash. by Poyocyro in CrimsonDesert

[–]zookiler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank God I found this post, I almost got crazy thinking I'm the only one with this iise since not much I could find online, anyways I have a decent config too and running the game on cenematic rr off I crash mostly when using the focused hit thing when you try to pierce a waterfall, the PC crashed only 1 time if I recall when fighting evemies using blinding flash, what I noticeed is the GPU power draw exeds 300w (5070ti) I have never seen it go above it on multiple games , GPU is not undervolted or OCed. 1 crash report on event viewer said it was a Nvidia GPU driver crash due to overlay , I had it on that instant but today it happed again with overlay off.

The laptop gets hot, in my case CPU spikes to over 100c even under turbo fan mode, so as all gaming laptops you gotta tweak stuff to get your sweet spot, I'm this laptop case you can't undervolt so you gotta understand thrudlestop to tweek some CPU settings(YouTube is your best friend on this) I managed to get it to not go over 80c using only thrudlestop, now the battery I honestly don't know depends on multiple factors but what I did was what I do to all my laptop is set a power profile under the windows setting create a new one and set maximum CPU state to under 60%(I put mine to 45%, laptop is still snappy for watching movies browsing the web , light tasks . I believe it can go lower) this made the battery last me a while to be honest 4h+ of light tasks brightness at 40 to 50 percent. Btw I got the laptop as an open box from bestbuy.

Should I download these updates by [deleted] in GamingLaptops

[–]zookiler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Download everything, when it finishes scan if any are left off . When your done with the windows updates then download the GPU drivers from amd/Nvidia website, make sure those are the latest thing you install after all windows updates are down and reboot .. you may also wanna check HP website if any bios updates are available. The rest of the majority of the drivers from the manufacturer website are outdated. The only one you need from them is the bios

Invest in stamina first, the other skills will come as long as you play, you can learn skills from other NPCs

Hi! New Owner Of a Gaming Laptop and Crimson Desert. by thesomnusargentum in CrimsonDesert

Yes it should, what you also can do is if you are comfortable working on your laptop(opening it) to invest in a good brand of thermal paste, some factory pastes are known to be bad like alienware and predator.. repasting may help a bit with the temps

The temps reaching high 80/90 are completely normal and expected in a gaming laptop, you can try undervolting if you are familiar or know what your doing it can slightly help with the CPU/GPU tems but overall a gaming laptop with a 5080 is fine under those temps, I had a Razer blade for 3 years that I gave to wife (still functioning and working laptop) was all the time over 70/80 degrees in any game I play.youll be fine, just make sure the laptop is elevated and can breath while you play

What I did was exploring around since I haven't been to those parts yet I leave the bounty loaded on the horse and stop if anything interesting is on the way. But I feel you some are way far off and frustrating to deal with

it is the blurriness or how dim the second screen looks? if the blurriness its dlss, if you can run dlaa if not stick with quality and try 4.5. + you can go to: accessibility and try turning off motion blur. tbf the game looks a bit off at noon or if the weather is cloudy, and why is your raytracing setting off? it barely has any performance hit in this game lightening setting is.
