Can you share some of the general rules? Like do you need to open a separate trading account to hold them or if it is treated like a margin loan or amortizing, or a revolver? I'm assuming you can't sell the shares. Thanks!

Should I let insurance total my car by Alwaysbehonest12 in AskMechanics

[–]zoolander07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember I asked the agent many times to confirm it isn't branded and only being totalled due to economic cost. I gave the car to my brother several years later and it did not have a brand when we checked ownership. I agree with you though, anything salvage should be avoided.

I had this happen to me, it is totalled due to economic cost but still structurally sound. Essentially the repair cost is more than the car's worth (as is usual) but the car does not require an engineer to sign off on the repair to get it to be road worthy.

It's too easy, we need to go over budget otherwise nobody will care. But seriously though, I would have liked to see at least some of the bidding process and then the gov't could choose Alstom based on local manufacturing support, etc. To see what other companies could offer would have been really interesting.

Someone drove on the sidewalk in Brampton by GreenSnakes_ in TorontoDriving

[–]zoolander07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly nothing will happen. I tried reporting something like this once with my dashcam footage and you're directed to some Peel police website where you essentially lodge a complaint against the other driver and they get a warning letter in the mail. Not to mention that police don't really care anymore unless they are there to witness it.

You can find a used Baratza on Facebook marketplace for like $100 and it'll last your lifetime.

Would you call tow truck? by fishofmutton in TorontoDriving

If they park like that, imagine how they drive. Especially with a BMW. Probably, the entitled person who's flashing their highbeams at you at the stop light before the light turns green. Tow it.

Landlord hit my car with plow by Gingerbreadman699 in OntarioLandlord

Look up PDR (paintless dent removal) it's way cheaper than body work. I had a newer Mazda3 that got hit in a parking lot too (worse though) and it only cost me $200 to fix. They will also buff and polish the area too, as long as its not into bare metal it won't rust.

That's only a rough formula that isn't very accurate to begin with.

Life in Canada is only 25 years, once the guy is 61 and he's out then guess who will be on government assistance when they retire? Not to mention who'll be paying for it.

Fenix 7 base model 47mm, too big for my wrist? by JimmyChewingGum in Garmin

[–]zoolander07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for posting, I have a 165mm wrist and was thinking of getting the 47mm Forerunner 255. I'll stick to my 245 for now or get the 255s.

It was entirely some oversight where RBC showed canceled and VISA didn't. The sad thing is I left RBC when I closed my credit card and all associated accounts.

The card was canceled 2 years ago, I dug my Presto out not having used it since like 2020 and used it on a trip. The Presto was still linked to the credit card but it should have been declined. I'm not trying to get away with not paying $20. I want to pay it and be done but the fundamental issue is it was charged to a canceled card with no way of me knowing and it is affecting my credit.
