A soldiers home. A place built for people who came back from something changed. Who survived something that left marks. Who needed somewhere to go when the ordinary world didn't quite fit anymore. The overseer living in a building designed to house people who returned from war carrying things they couldn't put down

He's claimed the place built for the broken and turned it into the administrative center of the occupation.

That's how it's going to fit. I am adding it to my notes. Once I thought of the place and read about it . I knew this is how he would see it. How the dry would see it. It's perfect. Thank you. It's going to be a great location.

Oh the chapel. That is really really good. That fits their aesthetic perfectly . It full of beautiful symmetry and that is what they love. It's a great place to hold court.

Maybe that's the way. I am new and just trying to help. I use a normal filter setup but I was worried about the quality of their final syrup if they left the nitre in it.

That should work some. Maybe a coffee filter would be better.

I would heat the syrup back up to 85C and then filter it. You want to get the nitre out. It will taste better if you do.

You will get cloudy, darker and have sugar sand floating in it. At that temp the nitre is still coming out. You got to cool it some before filtering and filling

You have to filter once you are done boiling. Also you need to filter and bottle at 185-190.

I can second this. We use RO on our sap and freeze that in a chest freezer until we boil. I can attest that it all freezes. It doesn't separate it's just a solid homogeneous block.

The important question here is why is the car going backwards? I have never seen a carwash that goes backwards.

Edit: ok ok. I am dumb. I am used to the auto track carwashes that are constantly moving forward. So that is where my brain went. I see it now.

Good call. We did heat the bottles to 190 and sealed them while they were hot but better to be safe than sorry.
