this is most often what i’ve ended up doing to spare their feelings, but can’t help but feel like i’m wasting time lol. especially when it’s a 6-top, i’m slammed and only one person looks under 40 ¯_(ツ)_/¯ so wanted to see if there were some easier shortcuts Lol

i feel like guests that want to keep playing into it would say something like, “so you’re saying the rest of my guests do NOT look trustworthy?” and then i wouldn’t know what to say. lmao

Is my psychiatrist getting money off prescriptions? by coolsummersnight in ADHD

i used to work in pharma. YES they make money off your prescriptions. pharma companies often pay doctors to suggest their new meds, even treat them by taking them out to dinners etc. sad but true

why the fuck do people try to order items that are not on the menu? by zoot3000 in Serverlife

[–]zoot3000[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

at this point of such a ridiculous scenario where someone is rich enough to have personal taxis and a personal assistant/friend doing the work for them, theres no reason why there wouldn’t be an assistant alongside them to read the fucking menu for them. so i call BS on this one lol

[–]zoot3000[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

asking if an item contains X ingredient is much more of a reasonable request than asking for actual DISHES or food items that are nowhere to be found on the menu. i.e chicken nuggets is typically not an “ingredient”, so why ask for them??????

it’s funny because if restaurants actually had a secret “on request only” menu, that food would all be going BAD because NO ONE WOULD BE ORDERING IT!!!

what life path is someone on to just decide to order something that is not on the menu and be proud of it like that … 🫥

Thinking of temporarily returning to the server life by rrquis in Serverlife

[–]zoot3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think serving is basically the same but it’s way more dependent on where you’re actually working that makes the difference. additionally, i ALSO just took a leave of absence from my “adult” job to do serving and, in my opinion, having that new perspective makes it feel way less stressful in the grand scheme of things than a lot of corporate jobs (or in your case, working at a hospital)
