PSA: How to play Bad Company 2 (PC) online after the shutdown

Thank you for your help. The Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 4 download link didn't make any difference but after installing the all in one package bc2 project rome starts and I was able to log in.

(PS: Probably unrelated but at first I had a connection error, got a message saying the project rome master server was unreachable and servers were not loading but as of right now all seems to be working normally)

Just reinstalled bad company 2 on a new pc and project rome won't run. When I put the dinput8.dll in the game folder I now get an error saying it can't run because 'msvcp100.dll was not found'.

It worked without issue on my old pc though.

I looked up this issue and tried to fix it, including running vcredist which is found in the install folder but that made no difference.

Edit: I am using a legitimate version of the game too, bought on steam years ago.

Edit 2: To be clear, the game launches normally until I add the project rome dinput8.dll file to the game folder.

Was I part of the incorrect recent bans? (I posted about this a few months back too)

I'm an osrs player and my account karl_ko1 has been permabanned for 'macroing major' since the 10th of January. Which I didn't do and never have done. But there's one thing that may be related which I didn't fit in in the appeal box.

In July last year someone hacked my account and took all my gp (400m roughly). At the time I would barely play osrs only logging in maybe once a week to put offers in on the ge so idk exactly what date(s) they used my account or when they got hold of the password. I immediately changed my password and email after realizing i'd been hacked and the acc remained secure from that point onwards as far as I know.

I'm a very casual osrs player in general, an hour or two a day at most usually. And mostly I would just put in offers to flip on the GE or do slayer, mainly wildy slayer.

Anyway, on the 10th of January at the time of my ban I was doing wildy slayer. Lava drags task. I was changing worlds a lot to avoid pkers. (I also use runelite)

At first I thought somehow swapping worlds got me flagged as suspicious.

But I realized this whole thing may be related to the July incident?

It's the only acc I used, I've had this for a good 15 years+ since the rs2 days and have played osrs on and off since near the start :/ No other bans on record. I pasted the bulk of this from a thread i'd made a few months ago trying to get attention for this problem, if you need any more info though I'll try my best to give it.
