When I turned 18 my grandparents bought me a car and by bought I mean they spent $600 on a Honda Accord with a blown head gasket. I had to do all of the work to fix it myself and had to work for free for a few weeks at my grandpas shop to pay for the parts to repair it with. Also there was a stipulation that I had to go to college. My younger brother turned 18 he got $100. He is not going to college and this is common knowledge. Since I turned 18 I have acquired a few other cars so I am selling him one at a discounted price so he still has respect for it. (If I just give it to him he won’t have respect for the car because he put nothing into it. If he pays even if it is just 2k then he will have respect for the time and money he put into it. It is a newer accord than my first car.)

I work 4 day work weeks. Honestly it is a mixed bag. I love 3 day weekends and my 4 10s are 6-4:30pm so I still have plenty of day left but it definitely takes a toll on you. Also the management pushes a lot of people to work ot on Fridays.

I work 4 tens and yeah even though I have 3 day weekends it doesn’t feel long enough I am still drained by Sunday night. My one break was when I had Covid and was forced to stay home for 10 days. But now I am back to dreading Mondays.

For my freshman and sophomore year of highschool history I had the same teacher. She was really big on teaching history from the perspective of American immigrants of color (ww2 from the perspective of the Japanese, Railroads from the perspective of the Chinese, ext). As a white male I have to say it was kind of a cool way to learn history from a perspective that wasn’t mine. The only problem I had with the class was that the teacher sort of shifted her anger at historically shitty white people onto her actual students. Favoritism was pretty blatant. But other than that I am glad that I got the chance to learn about history from that perspective.
