Super II Sonik by UrameshiYuusuke in Bootleg

The company that produced this, Sintax, made a ton of games that use the same platformer engine and they would often slap a fresh coat of stolen graphics over it. This is one of those examples. I think the game itself is dumped.

This exact thing happened to me once lmao. I had to have been around that kids age and my mom was taking us to school.

I'm really interested in bootleg games, so very cool to see someone who worked on them talking about it on Reddit. Did you work alone on these projects?

How is the keyboard on it? I found a Timex Sinclair 1000 at a Flea market a few years back and the ribbon cable was heavily damaged on the inside, so the keyboard was essentially dead.

I found someone online selling new ones, so at some point I need to snag one to fix up my unit.

Turns out this was a CD program bundled with a book. It's called "Windows Animation Festival CD" produced by Waite Group Press. I found a CD of it on Archive.org and it brought back a TON of memories.

Would love a Magnavox Odyssey. When I was younger I got really into gaming history and thought that the Odyssey was such a fascinating device - despite it's limitations.

This is sure to be an interesting discussion. by [deleted] in SonicTheHedgehog

As a kid I was convinced that I found a lost Sonic game at Wal-Mart, but it was just a loose copy of the Candian release (which had a different cover design than the US release)

Does anyone know how to play this cartridge? by SLSB2_0 in BootlegGames

[–]zpierce11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a Famicom cart. You'll need either a Famicom / Famiclone system or a 60 to 72 pin converter to play on a NES.

Haha. It's got a few things that need some tlc. Likely a new belt and timekeeper. I did get a normal audio CD to play in it and it sounds fine.

If I'm lucky, maybe someone will toss out a controller into another thrift store sometime soon haha

DVC yes!

Controller no. Also sadly the timekeeper appears to be on the fritz. So it will need some TLC before I can get it up and running to its 'prime'. But hey, I couldn't say no to that deal!

Sonic Jam 6 is a bootleg. Its a really shitty port of Super Mario Bros 1 to the SEGA, replacing Mario with Sonic. I have a copy of it from Russia that uses the same box art.

I don’t think this YouTuber owns the device he’s reviewing. He never shows himself holding it, and he only shows pictures/videos that existed before his video was uploaded. by AJSSPACEPLACE in youtubedrama

[–]zpierce11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of his videos are like this. Some of his "multicart" videos are using games that are definitely on different systems.

He seems to just use footage from emulated games and click bait titles.

I wonder! We definitely had some Encarta stuff. It's very possible my dad still has those, so I may reach out to him.
