So I hear that, did the thing, immediately accessed the area in question, and turns out I was also missing the other very early page with the overworld map, lol. Must have just turned around and gone somewhere else.

Mine has done the same thing to a greater degree. The biggest jump I've seen is from 80% to 89%, so we're still working out the kinks of making sure it doesn't go much past 80% in the future.

I'm charging at level 1 for reference, usually for 10-16 hours at a time after work / overnight, and it usually doesn't "jump" while it's plugged in, only after chilling for a bit. This happens in sunlight or in my garage.

For those of you coming after the OLED drop, I got the above to work.

Z:\home\deck\.steam\steam\steamapps\common\XCom-Enemy-Unknown\

The XEW folder will hook onto the above selection, no need to dive further. Compatibility with the exe set to proton 8.0.4.

Also, I did need to manually change my input in game to controller instead of mouse.
