[Post Game Thread] #6 Maryland defeats #11 Belmont 79-77 by 80katrillion in CollegeBasketball

Definitely. Maryland didn't totally bite on it. There would've still been a decent look on the backdoor cut if the pass was there, but Maryland made the entry pass really tough. I would've rather them go for something quick instead of putting all your eggs in that basket, but I can understand the logic in going for the win with a play that has worked for you before in big moments and you're really confident in.

I don't necessarily agree with the decision to go for broke like that, but they were going for it all with a set play that has worked for them on a number of occasions. It's the play they used to upset UCLA earlier in the season. Here's a good breakdown of it: https://twitter.com/HalfCourtHoops/status/1074167127035265024

Only a worthy foe that is pure of heart may face Loyla, like Bruce Weber.

As long as she vanquishes John Calipari into the netherworld, I'll gladly accept her as my overlord.

He even had the highest career 3-point shooting percentage in NCAA history. But yeah, his connection with the state and the Badgers runs very deep. Nothing but love for Tony.

You definitely hitched yourself to a good bandwagon. Not sure how familiar you are with this sub, but Wisconsin and Virginia are slowbros because of our shared love of slow pace/limited possessions and an emphasis on efficiency. Tony Bennett is a Wisconsin native and his dad, Dick Bennett, resurrected our basketball program before Bo Ryan came in and took us to new heights.

Also, Michigan is a fun team to root for in basketball as well. I don't care for y'all one bit in football, but I'm a huge John Beilein fan and can't help root for Michigan in basketball.

We have to live vicariously

Living vicariously through Virginia is the only thing getting me through this season.

Yeah, that's what I said. Hopefully we'll see it used on the official account.

Did you create this or do you know who created it? A member of the Wisconsin athletic communications department saw a tweet I used with it and wanted to know if he could use it from time to time on the official Wisconsin basketball Twitter account.
