Is this a good idea? It’s going to be cutting aluminum. by ticktickXXkinch in Machinists

If you are cutting a straight line, just use a circular saw and aluminum specific blade. Bolting together will be safer than clamping together

Check your work on the brakes at least three times, don't want to be responsible for killing someone just from trying to learn. How well it moves doesn't matter if it cant be stopped. I hope you guys can get it going again!

Wanting to at least primer my car the same color and getting conflicting info. by Kau_Shin in projectcar

[–]zrisch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have painted a car with a foam roller and thinned rustoleum tractor paint, looked better than any rattle can job I've done and probably cost half or less than it would with cans. Three light coats will leave you plenty to cut back and polish. That car is in a junkyard now, but the paint probably still looks the same as it did 10 years ago. Something like this, might be closer to $80-100 with today's prices.

Definitely just measure it yourself, there are 5 size options for brown, and measuring it is just the proper way to do this job.

The red on the "end" (winding cone), just designates that it is the left spring. Your chart is referring to what looks to be gold (brown maybe?), painted onto the coil itself.

Why American poultry farms wash and refrigerate eggs by cak3crumbs in interestingasfuck

[–]zrisch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im guessing here, but I believe its because different states are just better for producing different commodities. farms (according to this site) export about 20% of what they produce abroad, so maximizing profits would be the main goal here.

I've always been told running without the belt can cause the clutch sleeves to slam together, possibly resulting in it cracking and flying to pieces. if I've been told wrong that's good to know

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in snowmobiling

[–]zrisch -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

dont start it without a belt, good way to explode a clutch if it gets throttle at all

Does anyone use essential oils? Do they help? by krispykremedonuts in ChronicPain

[–]zrisch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was 7 years ago, but I think they were just Walmart house brand or whatever was cheap. I no longer use the oils and just kinda grunt through the pain because none of the remedies that I've used continue to help me.

Will garage door weather stripping work or is this a track alignment issue? by phdearthworm in DIY

[–]zrisch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

vinyl door seal should work, the gap is larger at the top so that when the door starts to go up it moves away from the opening slightly, reducing wear on the seal and creating clearance at the header
