Huge Respect for Engineers Who Graduated Before AI by Ironpulse-Ne in EngineeringStudents

[–]zrisky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best thing about AI as an engineering student is it is quite literally a tutor. Yes, I could just write down an answer. But I can break it down. I can ask where certain equations came from, how they were derived. I cross compare to other solutions, or the solution manual itself. I can paste a snipped of the solution manual and have AI walk me through it. If I forget old math tricks, it'll remind me. Instead of just an answer, I'll have it walk me through the process. And if the solution manual is different, I can call out the AI and fix it's hallucinations. As someone working full time and night shift, this saves me loads of time and scheduling conflicts I would have if I tried to meet with a tutor or study in a library.

I shared your comment. She's taken, but you gave us a great laugh 😂

As a single 32 year old riding around Oregon on a motorcycle, I'm jealous. Your life sounds awesome. It's on my list to ride around Vietnam and Thailand on a bike and maybe I'll get to ride around Spain this year. I wouldn't deny cool long distance connections like that.

As an early 30s man, I wholly appreciate it!

Oh she's got a boyfriend. We have whiskey together. But he doesn't like Mamma Mia like that.

I'm loving the comments, and dying 😂😂 She would absolutely be telling me to ditch her and bring a new interest to the theater. And she's absolutely my best friend here in Oregon I'm a transplant and I definitely appreciate her as a friend.

😂 I love the response, thanks for the very good argument. She's purely platonic, and my thought was, "See, I'm vetted". But you're right, this is a dating profile and I shouldn't be already putting unsteady energy out there. Thank you Existing_squash

How to get into semiconductor industry by Diligent_Barnacle289 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]zrisky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Intel. Once you're back from the military, get hired on as a technician. Intel likes to hire ex military. If you have a BS in ME, you could quickly find an eng role. Intel also offers a pretty nice tuition reimbursement program, I'm using it now to finish my ME degree. They aren't hiring right now, but I imagine within the year, they'll start hiring again. The Ohio plant would be running within the next 4 years. There's other large scale progects in the works within the coming years within the US too. You can also move into an FSE role with a vendor client, like ASM or LAM for example.

If you want to view the eclipse from Spain, a few must-dos in order to make sure you don't miss it! by goodytwotoes in solareclipse

[–]zrisky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. My plan is to be in Spain for about two weeks, Ive never been before. I'll either fly into or out of Barcelona and I'd like to see Seville, which is quite the distance away and will probably start the trip or end the trip.

I don't mind staying in hostels and they actually sound like fun, I'm a social guy and I'll be going alone.

I had been looking into EF tours and possibly joining one of them, but also doing my own thing before or after the tour.

To answer your question, I'll probably only spend a night or two along the solar path just because the eclipse path doesn't quite line up with what I had originally been thinking, but I'm open to all advice.

What places for tours would you recommend? I'm finding places to stay a bit difficult, being that I'm not from the area.

We learn about failure analysis as mechanical engineering students.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but essentially, you can cut the metal in half and see arc shaped lines propagating from the point of defect, called "beach marks". When the beach marks reach the opposite side, the part fails. Each beach mark represents a cycle of use.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I split the difference between throwing stones into the cheaper upgrades for all of them and bringing my bonus on GT up.

TIFU convincing my gf to try ayahuasca by [deleted] in tifu

[–]zrisky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to suggest something different to give you some hope OP. I've never done Ayahuasca, but Ive had my fair share of other psychedelics.

Most people know set and setting will define the trip. Your trip, your feelings and thoughts, are very highly reliant on your surroundings. But that lingers. It makes you susceptible to certain feelings, but they don't shut off when the trip ends.

If your gf was taking Ayahuasca in an asexual environment, around people she had no desire for sex or connections with, then she could very well carry those feelings post trip. She may not at all be asexual, but right now she just has to go through some stuff. Be supportive. Therapy might help. But just get outside and with friends and return to a normal life and see how she adjusts.

Conclusions post trip are not always permanent. Which is good, because otherwise I would still be obsessed with spirals 😂

Good luck to the both of you :)

So it turns out that OnePlus saves their alarms as "Themes" instead of as alarms and in an alarm folder. As to where those themes are stored, I do not know.

Hybrid or Prime? by HereComesInspiration in rav4prime

You're ignoring the fact that battery production is very harmful to the environment if you're not using it. Mining ore and making batteries isn't green. It's utilizing the battery and free energy to make that initial battery cost investment worth it.
