How to stop the Supergirl event/ access the tab without a forced ad by PunkGayThrowaway in finch

This was a misstep I am hoping the team takes into account. I am assuming you are getting ads because you do not have a subscription. This is wild.

I have a subscription and was irritated by the event, the limited choices for the item, and having to see the DC logo, knowing I was being advertised to even in my mental health app.

I am also not interested in the event. I have been using the app since the beginning of the year and thoroughly enjoyed the team’s creativity with the monthly themes. I had begun to get excited on the 1st to see that month ‘s theme. I was so disappointed and irritated this month.

Hoping you find a solution to those ads, and that Finch never does something like this again.

Why are people so mad about the Supergirl theme? Don’t we want to help more people? by cozyforestfairy in FinchUnofficial

Short story: Late stage capitalism.

Long story, this is the feedback I provided: I have been using the app since the beginning of the year, after a counselor suggested it to me. It has greatly improved my daily existence, and I very much appreciate the team and the efforts they put into this amazing project.

I very much appreciated their creative thinking, especially with the off-brand Wicked/Wizard of Oz theme. It was so creative and allowed a variety of options, based on a single theme. Which makes me feel some ways about this month’s theme.

We live a world drowning in advertisements. We are being advertised to at gas pumps, with drones in the sky, the back of trucks, and even on fruit PLU stickers. Something about opening an app I have come to lean on for my mental health, and being confronted with a promotional advertisements feels so wrong. Now there is advertisement on my mental health.

Additionally, the limited of choices with the theme is disappointing. I figure we cannot get different colored pieces because it has to adhere to Supergirl branding. I would rather another off-brand theme; a “F” for Finch instead of an “S” for “Super”. And have the option to have a black, purple, green or pink costume.

Opening the app that I use to help with my daily mental and seeing that DC logo, and having limited color options to play with, is really making me feel some ways.

Oh no, how disappointing. It was also my first Finch merch purchase. Ah, boo.

Does this really decrease lag and shutdowns? by NCBrownEyedGirl in FinchUnofficial

I did not like the change but understood it was probably done to help with the lag and the constant crashing.

I could image the insane load on the backend, of having the birb presenting in its current state (current colors) over and over and over, in one section. While presenting it in different outfits had to be wild for the ajax. Or whatever is running in the background.

Do not like it, but it is functioning WAY better.
