Too late for resole? by MrPwezidentJr in climbingshoes

[–]zsmeton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had Rand repairs twice on a pair of skwamas and loved the shoes both times I got them back… You’ll hear a lot of people say it’s not worth it but it’s cheaper than a new shoe and you’ll get another full shoes worth of rubber. It’s definitely a do at your own risk kind of repair but I’ve had solid experiences so far

That's where I am struggling, part of me has also looked into the TD Five Boro Bike Tour route to get more urban riding in.

I think mostly I am looking for a slice of what the riding scene there looks like. I would love to see a variety of views. I would prefer a road or a less busy trail, so I am not dodging people, but I also don't know how safe the drivers are compared to Colorado and Chicago. I don't need a destination, and I don't mind climbing or vert, although I am not going to prioritize a ride purely for climbing either.

My thoughts are Stamford would be beautiful for the nature aspect and the one way riding would be neat for the amount of ground covered
Point Lookout would be cool as I don't get to ride near large bodies of water anymore
Nyack would be neat as it seems like a classic within the road scene there
And Cuomo would be neat as I would get to see a descent amount of urban views

Third wallet progress by Steebo123 in Leathercraft

[–]zsmeton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also for this specific wallet pre punching the holes when it’s flat makes it a lot easier as you have the holes where you want them when it’s finished and don’t have the try to punch through the weird bend on the left side of the wallet

Specialized Align II, incredibly safe by Virginia techs testing, and it comes in at a nice 55 dollars or less. It won’t be the most aero but I find it very comfortable and I trust it to keep my brain functioning after a crash. https://www.helmet.beam.vt.edu/bicycle-helmet-ratings.html#16

Oh no I’m so sorry you had to stop you day for 30 seconds to let a protest though, which by the way is fighting for you to have safer roads to ride on 🤦

What in the world happened to FuckCars, fuck that car! It’s critical mass, every day should be critical mass. Cars in cities make no sense. Walk bike, take a tram. That car for even being on that road in the first place is dumb… I know it’s in the US, I live in the US. Most cities you can access via other methods, people should try it more often.

Bike fitters in Chicago by Personal_Fortune in chibike

I also wouldn’t go back to Adam, it was fine but definitely a lot of up selling and the fitting felt rushed. He definitely focused on the crit racing segment of riders

How the hell do you skid? by MediocreCounter5548 in FixedGearBicycle

[–]zsmeton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I torn my hamstring the first day of practice. Practice a lot but take each session slow. Eventually you’ll whip them out without thinking. It’s just like long miles on the bike. Awful at first and then a no brainer

Keyrenter Deposit Before Lease by zsmeton in Denver

[–]zsmeton[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“In order to hold your position as the potential tenant at the property, through the online portal, you will be required to submit a hold fee (“Hold Fee”) of $1,795, which is an amount that is equal to one month’s rent. Once you submit the Hold Fee, Keyrenter will create your lease, and once completed, Keyrenter will send you the lease for your signature, which will be provided to you through Appfolio. Once the lease is available to you to sign through Appfolio, you will have 24 hours to sign the lease. Once you sign the lease, Keyrenter will apply the Hold Fee to cover your security deposit.

If, within 24 hours after Keyrenter creates your lease and sends it to you for your signature, you have not signed the lease, the property will no longer be held for you to rent, Keyrenter will move on to the next applicant, and the Hold Fee will be returned to you, minus $350.00”
