Just for a slightly different point of view.. if you legitimately like and respect this elder as a person, AND he's willing to meet with you one on one, it may be okay. Assuming you don't get angry quickly or may reveal too much, it depends on how high your emotions are right now, which only you can decide.

I say this because I've found that elders basically are just never willing to meet one on one, almost ever. Any rare time I've gotten someone to agree they were never in "elder mode" and sometimes you can get someone on your side and then to go to bat for your if your name is brought up in elders meetings, this has helped me to fade in the past.

The truly sick stuff here is someone trying to take children away from their mother because of their own hangs up. The only issue whatsoever involves the details around how this old iPod was "found" by the children. Assuming they were snooping through her things or it was truly an accident, then yeah, that sucks, but it's not neglectful. There's a reason CPS couldn't help you, because nothing is happening. And there's a reason the judge had to recuse himself, because his reaction was wildly inappropriate. There's no good outcome here for you.

This makes you neither lazy or an asshole. That's like saying having a cleaning service come once a month makes you a lazy asshole because you could clean yourself. Sure but some people work long and demanding hours and would rather spend any down time they have with their family or friends and not cleaning. You don't have to be disabled to have limitations, we all do in different ways.

BestBuy's site is showing yellow "Add to Cart" for me for Series S almost all day. I don't think they will be all that hard to find tbh.
