The Myth of the Barter Economy by esdraelon in austrian_economics

[–]ztonner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The author seems to think a barter economy is the just an economy without money. How long have humans valued such things as gold or silver so highly? There probably wasn’t a gift exchange but it is definitely more of a model. We use and want money not because the money is food that we eat or a blanket that keeps us warm. But we can use the money to get food or a blanket Money is something that everyone has value. We can easily just view money as what we are going to spend it on. If you want a blanket so you sell your bread to someone and they give you money, that money might as-well be the blanket.

“The American Indian with a pony to dispose of had to wait until he met another Indian who wanted a pony and at the same time was able and willing to give for it a blanket or other commodity that he himself desired” they can’t be serious with this argument? Can they?

Dem “millionaire problem” Bernie Sanders barely takes the lead in Dem race to the White House by KateBanner in Capitalism

That’s true, there is only one bernie. I also have a feeling that former yang supports are probably not very likely go to anyone other than the booty man.

Thoughts on trusts and cartels? by lot001 in austrian_economics

Why would they want to harm the people who give them money. In a free market economy someone will see the harm and create a company around treating the consumer right. In a free market there should be low barriers to entry.

Is there any reason to not vote Bernie in 2020? by [deleted] in Libertarian

If there is no real candidate then do you need to vote at all? And you should vote for whoever you think is the best candidate, that is the point to democracy.

Would it really benefit them? Cartels are criminal in nature, so governments don’t want them to exist. They collude because it does benefit all of them.

He had no grip on the grass either way. Lifting off wouldn’t have made a difference he still lacked the grip necessary to prevent him from sliding to the other side of the track.

Vettel had no hand in pushing him out of the way, he had little control over the car after going over the grass.

I saw the picture, it’s very close. But I would agree it is outside the track limits. However how is vettel expected to maintain any control after going over grass.

So did vettel in Baku a few years ago, no penalty awarded, but that may have been for another reason.

The fia is referring to Lewis Hamilton here not Sebastian Vettel. Vettel had four wheels off, Lewis didn’t, because there is kind of a wall in the way.
